Job Description
At Amazon, we're working to be the most customer-centric company on earth. To get there, we need people who are curious, driven, and ready to build. If you'd like to help shape the future of how Amazon operates, this is your chance to make history.
The Global Procurement Launch and Expansion (GPLE) team manages the flow of materials to new or expanding sites by monitoring and mitigating supply risks. Within GPLE, the Global Launch Supply Management (GLSM) pillar owns key-supplier relationships end-to-end, driving supplier performance and delivery so the business can launch sites on time. GPLE sits within Global Procurement Operations (GPO).
This role owns end-to-end key supplier management in the EU, with the opportunity to shape how it operates and own the results.
Key job responsibilities
Partner strategically with key suppliers to proactively identify and mitigate supply risks, improve lead times, and unlock performance and cost opportunities, shaping how we work with suppliers in the region.
Own the end-to-end relationship and performance of key suppliers in the region: on-time and in-full delivery of goods, lead-time and orderability, and purchase order acceptance.
Ensure risks and escalations are mitigated to meet launch program timelines for new site launches and expansions in the network.
Optimize the supply chain through deep-dive analysis, identifying processes and tools to reduce manual effort, optimize costs, and improve data visibility.
Plan and execute continuous improvement initiatives in the region through implementation of best practices, standardization of project execution, and governance that delivers long-term value to internal stakeholders.
Manage multiple, competing projects and priorities simultaneously.
About the team
GPLE is a global function within GPO that enables the on-time launch of new sites, expansions, and retrofits by ensuring non-inventory materials are planned for, ordered, and delivered in full, and services are mobilized on time — whilst managing a high level of ambiguity across multiple stakeholder organizations. GLSM is GPLE's strategic key-supplier management partner.
