Job Description

Are you a CFO or finance executive who has been involved in the planning and execution of a cloud-enabled business transformation at a large organization to improve operational performance and drive growth? Have you helped your organization evaluate, fund, and measure the ROI of AI and machine learning initiatives? Do you understand how to leverage AI tools to transform finance operations — and how to govern them responsibly? Can you help executives and leaders from around the business understand the value of ground-breaking solutions and how to adopt them to improve agility? Have you led a large organizational and cultural transformation? Have you helped an organization manage and/or change how they leverage their partners?

At Amazon Web Services (AWS), we're hiring an Enterprise Finance Strategist to join our team of former CxOs in the Executive in Residence team responsible for guiding our enterprise efforts and advising the largest companies on how they can transform the way they use technology to deliver business value.

Our team combine their personal experiences using AWS with learnings from other customers to help enterprises understand and realize the business value they can unlock using the AWS platform. This role is part finance strategy, part cultural guidance, and part emerging technology advisement — helping CFOs navigate the financial and operational implications of AI adoption, cloud economics, and technology-driven transformation.

Key job responsibilities
• Implement the operating plan for the adoption of AWS and AI inside of large organizations
• Manage executive/board-level relationships both internally and externally
• Articulate how to implement large-scale change across technology, people, and process
• Deliver enterprise-wide optimization results
• Design, build, and operate global forecasting, budgeting, and reporting plans across divisions and lines of business
• Evaluate AI investments through a financial lens — building frameworks for ROI measurement, risk assessment, and governance
• Leverage AI-powered tools and platforms to accelerate personal and team productivity
• Advise on responsible AI adoption, including data governance, bias mitigation, and regulatory considerations relevant to the CFO
• Empathize with and influence change in large and complex organizations that move the status quo

About the team
The AWS Executive in Residence team are evangelists and change agents who influence and drive increasing AWS adoption with enterprise customers. The primary mechanism of evangelism is through engaging with senior executives (CIO, CTO, CEO, CFO, etc.) on the premise that accelerated adoption of AWS will occur from influencing authority decision makers.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree; Master's/MBA preferred
• 10+ years in a Finance leadership/executive position (VP of Finance, CFO, Controller, or equivalent)
• Executive role leading large in-house Finance and/or G&A teams (50+ FTEs)
• Experience leading or sponsoring a cloud and/or AI-enabled business transformation
• Direct experience evaluating, funding, or governing AI/ML initiatives at the enterprise level
• Demonstrated experience with technology budgeting, operating plans, and board-level financial reporting
• Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including group leadership and executive presentations
• Willingness to travel up to 40-50%

Preferred Qualifications:

• CPA/CFA certification
• Familiarity with AI economics, including total cost of ownership models for AI workloads and frameworks for measuring AI ROI
• Hands-on experience with AI-powered productivity tools (generative AI, intelligent automation, AI-assisted analytics)
• Understanding of FinOps practices and cloud financial management frameworks
• Track record of publishing thought leadership (blogs, whitepapers, conference talks) on finance transformation, cloud economics, or AI in the enterprise
• Experience advising boards or C-suite peers on emerging technology risk and opportunity
• Pre-established credibility, contacts, and recognition in speaking engagements and finance publications
• Meets/exceeds Amazon's leadership principles requirements for this role
• Meets/exceeds Amazon's functional/technical depth and complexity for this role
