Job Description

At EY, we're all in to shape your future with confidence.

We'll help you succeed in a globally connected powerhouse of diverse teams and take your career wherever you want it to go.

Role purpose

Drive timely collection of aged receivables through systematic client and internal follow-up, while ensuring accurate collection intelligence supports cash application, dispute resolution and account reconciliation.

The opportunity

The newly formed Core Collection team supports strong cash and liquidity outcomes across the MENA region through disciplined follow-up throughout the receivables lifecycle. We are looking for an accurate, systematic and service-minded collections professional who can engage confidently with clients and internal teams, identify obstacles to payment and resolve accounts receivable (AR) issues, from early follow-up through to payment, dispute resolution or an agreed next action.

Your key responsibilities

  • Manage an assigned AR portfolio and maintain a clear, current view of collection status, next actions and expected payment dates.
  • Start proactive client follow-up by email and telephone, typically 10–15 days after invoice issuance, to confirm receipt, approval status and payment timing, and obtain payment commitments.
  • Follow up with internal engagement teams on aged receivables, missing documentation, invoice acceptance and client queries to unblock payment.
  • Capture invoice disputes accurately, including the issue, responsible party and agreed next step, and communicate them promptly to the relevant engagement or finance team.
  • Reconcile open balances with clients, share statements and invoice copies, and obtain remittance details and balance confirmations as required.
  • Provide reliable payment and remittance information to the AR management team to support cash application and the resolution of on-account and unidentified payments.
  • Monitor payment commitments, follow up on missed ones and escalate overdue or problematic cases through the appropriate channels.
  • Keep collection notes and status updates complete and accurate in gCollect, using approved automation for reminders and personal follow-up where needed.
  • Identify recurring causes of delay and suggest practical improvements to collection effectiveness, invoice quality and the engagement-to-cash process.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Strong follow-up discipline, with the persistence, tact and confidence to communicate professionally with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • High accuracy, attention to detail and good numerical skills to spot inconsistencies or missing information.
  • A systematic, organized approach and the ability to prioritize multiple accounts effectively.
  • A practical problem-solving mindset and willingness to investigate the root causes of payment delays.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating in a multicultural, matrixed organization.

Technology and digital capability

  • Hands-on use of gCollect or a comparable collections platform.
  • Comfort working with automated reminder workflows and AI-enabled tools, while maintaining appropriate review and control over automated outputs.
  • Ability to adopt new tools and ways of working quickly.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • A bachelor's degree or higher in finance, business, accounting or a related field.
  • At least two years of relevant experience in accounts receivable, collections, billing, cash application or a related finance role.
  • Working knowledge of receivables, payment allocation and account reconciliation principles.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and experience using finance or ERP systems.
  • For internal candidates, knowledge of the engagement lifecycle and the firm's cash application processes.

Ideally, you'll also have

  • Experience in a professional services or multi-country finance environment.
  • Experience using SAP and collection workflow tools.
  • Exposure to process digitization or continuous improvement across billing, collections or cash application.

What we look for

We look for people who combine accuracy with persistence, sound judgement and respectful communication, who take ownership of follow-up actions and keep reliable system records, and who can balance automation with thoughtful personal engagement.

What we offer you

At EY, we'll develop you with future-focused skills and equip you with world-class experiences. We'll empower you in a flexible environment, and fuel you and your extraordinary talents in a diverse and inclusive culture of globally connected teams.

  • Continuous learning and exposure to modern collection practices, automation and AI-enabled finance tools.
  • The opportunity to help shape a growing regional team and improve how receivables are managed.
  • The support and flexibility to build your stakeholder-management skills and develop your career.

Ready to make an impact? If you can demonstrate the capabilities above, we encourage you to apply.
