Job Description

As a Sr Manager, Software Development, you are a trusted part of the technical leadership for bringing Alexa+ to millions of International customers in their languages and countries such that it exceeds local customers expectations. You pursue technology and engineering decisions and drive innovation to make Alexa+ Architecture (both runtime and offline) truly global.

You lead a team of software engineers, collaborate closely with PMTs, TPMs and Principal engineers. ideal candidate is customer focused and enjoys the challenge of highly complex business contexts and tech ambiguity. You will be a passionate builder of talent and teams. You will set the vision for a scalable state of the art agentic solutions that bring context from and serve our millions of global customers.

Sr Software Development Managers at Amazon are owners. You will own your team, your roadmap and the end to end customer experience. You will drive engineering and operational excellence in your team and build delightful products for your customers. You will partner with business stakeholders and will strive to earn their trust. You will work directly with your customers and will constantly innovate on their behalf. You will be a great people manager and enjoy working with diverse mindsets. You will ensure that engineering best practices are followed and that software is designed to be highly-available, dynamically scalable, and resilient to continuity threats.

As a technology leader, you will drive architectural and design choices and invent new features. Alexa International is at the nexus of all other Alexa teams and features, such as Smart Home, Music, News, ASR (Automatic Speech Recognition), NLU (Natural Language Understanding), Fire TV, Skills etc. We collaborate with hardware and software developers within and outside Amazon to build delightful experience for our customers.

Basic Qualifications:

- 10+ years of engineering experience
- 5+ years of engineering team management experience
- 10+ years of planning, designing, developing and delivering consumer software experience
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
- Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects and development teams in an Agile environment

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience partnering with product and program management teams
- Experience designing and developing large scale, high-traffic applications
