Job Description

Are you excited to drive high-visibility, strategic logistics and technology solutions? MX Supply Chain is looking for a Program Manager, Direct Imports short term planner who continuously engages across business, technical and operational teams to deliver bigger smiles for our customers.

At Amazon, we're working to be the most customer-centric company on earth. To get there, we need exceptionally talented, bright, and driven people. Amazon is one of the most recognizable brand names in the world and we distribute millions of products each year to our loyal customers.

Amazon has great opportunities to pursue a career as a leader in Operations Planning & Management. We know that learning through experience is what transforms talented people into great leaders. Our roles are designed to accelerate the growth of leaders through challenging field experiences that stretch individual capability. Our Operations environment presents the candidates with great challenges in dealing with front line management, and driving scalable and continuous improvements across our Fulfillment Centers, Supply Chain & Transportation execution teams.

As a Program Manager for the Direct Imports Program, you will be the subject matter expert in planning and orchestrating Direct Imports volume as it enters the MX network through FC Core. You will forecast and track import demand, run network connectivity and capacity analysis, run simulations and scenarios for leadership, and synchronize this inbound import flow with domestic supply and demand plans over the 13 week to 52 week horizon in order to meet our customer's needs.

Key job responsibilities
- Manage the short and medium term forecast, capacity and peak planning for Direct Imports volume entering the MX network through FC Core.
- Work in partnership with Global Logistics, Global Trade Services, and MX Operations teams to secure the best network connections and transportation choices for inbounding import units on time.
- Ensure Direct Imports program plans are accommodated within domestic network plans, balancing import flow against domestic inbound to protect receive capacity and on-time delivery goals.
- Define a near term vision and plan to deliver it, driving continuous improvement of the import inbound experience by collaborating with stakeholders on the design of new solutions that enhance business performance and achieve established quality and efficiency goals.
- Inspect import demand forecasts and capacity plans critically and challenge assumptions from Retail, S&OP, and business teams.
- Provide high quality inputs and garner alignment with finance, leadership, and cross-functional partners (Global Logistics, Global Trade Services, Amazon Transportation Services) using a combination of in-person meetings, well written data backed documents, detailed business models or presentations.
- Identify and evaluate potential risks/obstacles across both the internal and external business environment — including customs, border, and transit constraints — with minimal direction.

A day in the life

You write quality documents that seek to plan, inform & align internal stakeholders across the import-to-domestic handoff. You challenge the status quo and drive data based decision making within your team. Additionally, you are always ready to jump in and take charge when problems and challenges emerge.

Basic Qualifications:
