Job Description:

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Intern – Operations and Maintenance Engineering for Summer, 2027. The position is based in Pearl City, HI.

Hitachi Rail provides signaling systems for metros and light rail systems. Accountabilities:

• Analyze the field data in order to ensure the definition, for each equipment the maintenance needs, of the correct failure rate.
• Contribute to the preparation of a field analysis report 
• Contribute to O&M documentation and participate in internal design reviews, including documentation of 
minutes and actions
• Contribute to the preparation of O&M Management Plan, Operation Plans, Maintenance Plan, Training plans, Spare Parts and Special Tools list 
• Participate to projects, bidding and delivery phases within project schedule 

Required skills/experience:

•    Excellent written and oral communications skills and ability to communicate complex technical information
•    Strong relevant technical skills 
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
•    Attention to detail and ability to multi-task.

Education:
•    Current Engineering student at a 4-year university with a graduation date between December, 2027 and December, 2028.

Languages:
•    English Proficiency

In accordance with the DOT’s FRA and FTA programs, Hitachi’s substance screening program tests pre-employment candidates and current employees, as required for safety-sensitive positions.

The hourly rate for this position is $22.00/hour.
