Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Digital Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to support the THAAD Weapon System Engineering Directorate (TBTE) in the development and deployment of THAAD Project Office digital engineering environments, automated workflows, and data pipelines that connect multi-disciplinary engineering teams, including collaboration with government stakeholders, prime contractors, and system architects to establish a unified digital thread.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Digital Thread Implementation: Establish and manage automated interfaces and APIs connecting Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools, product lifecycles, etc.
- System Architecture Integration: Align high-level SysML system architectures (developed in DOORS, Cameo, MagicDraw) with detailed downstream engineering data, including trajectory simulation, aerodynamic performance models, and sensor capabilities.
- Workflow Automation & Interoperability: Develop custom Python, Java, or MATLAB scripts and plugins to automate data transfer, model transformations, and digital verification pipelines, reducing manual technical translation errors.
- M&S and Digital Twin Development: Collaborate with modeling and simulation (M&S) teams to integrate hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) and software-in-the-loop (SWIL) environments with digital twin baselines to predict weapon system performance and operational readiness.
- Standards & Data Governance: Enforce and implement open standards (e.g., OSLC, FMI/FMU, STEP, DoDAF) and XML schemas to ensure secure semantic continuity and data interoperability across diverse contractor and government databases.
- Stakeholder Enablement: Author technical documentation, digital engineering style guides, and schemas to train and align government engineers and contractor partners on integrated digital environment practices.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Active Secret clearance
- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or related field, or equivalent work experience that meets guidelines established for job and 8+ years of related professional experience
- Master's Degree or equivalent, may be preferred at this level
- 3–5+ years of engineering experience, with at least 2 years focused on digital engineering, systems integration, or MBSE methodologies in a defense, aerospace, or government contractor environment.
- Hands-on experience with systems modeling tools, specifically Cameo Systems Modeler, MagicDraw, or IBM Rhapsody, and a strong understanding of SysML and DoDAF.
- Proficiency in Python, MATLAB/Simulink, or Java for tool integration, scripting, and manipulating API frameworks.
- Experience working with JSON, XML, SQL databases, and web services (RESTful APIs) within an integrated digital environment.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
- Master's Degree and 12+ years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's Degree and 20+ years of relevant experience.
- Excellent collaborative problem-solving skills, curiosity for multi-disciplinary technologies, and the ability to champion digital transformation across traditional engineering groups.
- Familiarity with missile defense components (interceptors, radars, fire control, trajectories, GNC) is highly preferred.
