Junior Project Manager (Banking & Insurance) in Katowice

Let us introduce you the job offer by EY GDS Poland – a member of the global integrated service delivery center network by EY.

The opportunity

At EY, you’ll have a chance to build your career as unique as you are, with the global scale, support, inclusive culture and technology to become the best version of you. And we’re counting on your unique voice and perspective to help EY become even better, too.

As part of our global Business Transformation Delivery and Execution team, you will primarily support and coordinate PMO activities for international transformation programs while also managing selected projects and workstreams. You will establish effective governance, track delivery, prepare management reporting, coordinate stakeholders, analyze information, and develop actionable recommendations to help ensure successful outcomes. You will support clients throughout their transformation and organizational change journeys and contribute to industry-leading PMO and project management solutions.

Your key responsibilities

  • You will support clients on business and organizational transformation journeys, becoming a trusted advisor on PMO governance and project management matters for both clients and EY colleagues.
  • You will advise on PMO structures, governance routines, reporting, planning, risk and issue management, and delivery controls based on client requirements, while building relationships across EY practices.
  • You will coordinate with project teams and stakeholders to monitor progress, dependencies, risks, issues, decisions, and actions, ensuring that client requirements and delivery standards are met.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead and support PMO activities for banks, insurance companies, and other financial institutions, including governance, integrated planning, status reporting, RAID management, budget and resource tracking, and transformation delivery coordination.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the global EY network, coordinate project and program progress, maintain delivery standards, and provide professional guidance to team members.
  • Prepare clear management updates, facilitate governance meetings, communicate with clients, and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Apply appropriate PMO and project management methods, including agile delivery, Design Thinking, and Lean Startup, to support effective execution.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to maintain a big-picture view while ensuring accurate, detailed, and timely PMO deliverables.
  • Excellent professional communication and reporting skills, with the ability to present concise, decision-oriented information to senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a continuously changing environment, proactively identify delivery risks and issues, and drive actions to resolution.
  • Sound knowledge of PMO and project management practices, including governance, planning, reporting, RAID management, and agile methods.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Minimum 1–3 years of experience in PMO, project coordination, or project management within consulting or the financial services sector (banks, insurers, financial institutions, funds, etc.).
  • Analytical mindset, allowing you to deeply understand topics and implement successful transformation strategies.
  • Strong team and customer orientation, willingness to learn, high engagement in responsible tasks, and a holistic view of the overall picture.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Experience supporting complex financial-services programs or transformation PMOs. Certifications such as PMP, AgilePM, PRINCE2, or a PMO-related certification are a plus.
  • Good understanding of banking/insurance products.
  • Further European language (preferable German and/or French).
  • Proficiency in project and reporting tools such as Microsoft Teams, Jira, Trello, GitHub, Miro, Slack, ServiceNow, Triskell, Excel, and PowerPoint, as applicable.
  • Hands-on experience with PMO governance, status reporting, meeting coordination, action tracking, RAID logs, and direct stakeholder collaboration.
