Assurance Staff/Assistant

Contract Type: Fixed Term                                                                  

Duration: Six Months

Job purpose

As an Assurance Staff/Assistant on a six-month fixed-term contract, you will work on audit engagements across a range of industry sectors in which EY is recognised as a market leader. These include financial services, energy and utilities, oil and gas, mining and metals, telecommunications, industrial products, automotive, retail and consumer products, and real estate.

Your client responsibilities

• Work as part of an engagement team and interact professionally with clients.
• Collect and analyze the data and information required for audit engagements.
• Perform substantive audit testing and document the work completed.
• Prepare and maintain accurate, complete and high-quality working papers.

Your people responsibilities

• Demonstrate a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
• Work constructively and collaboratively with team members.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues and clients.

Qualifications and experience

• A first degree from a recognized tertiary institution, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline.
• A minimum of a Second-Class Upper degree or its equivalent.
• A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in Audit or Assurance, preferably within a professional services environment.
• Associate membership of ACCA, ICAG or another recognized professional accounting body.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in French will be an added advantage.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
