Manager/Senior Manager - Technology Consulting TST - Financial Services – Banking

Location: Bahrain  |  Experience: Minimum 12 years

As part of our Technology Consulting practice, you will help leading banks and financial institutions navigate complex technology transformation journeys and accelerate digital innovation. We are seeking an experienced Manager to lead and support major banking transformation engagements spanning core banking modernization, digital banking, enterprise architecture, technology strategy and business-driven technology change.

You will work closely with senior client stakeholders, business and technology leaders, delivery partners and regulatory stakeholders to translate strategic priorities into executable transformation plans and sustainable outcomes. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to significant banking transformation programs in Bahrain and across the MENA region, supported by EY's global Financial Services network, methodologies and capabilities.

Your Key Responsibilities

Technology Strategy and Transformation Advisory

• Advise banking clients on technology strategy, digital transformation, operating model improvement and technology modernization initiatives.
• Define target-state business and technology architectures aligned with organizational objectives, regulatory expectations and growth strategies.
• Support technology investment decisions, platform selection, vendor evaluation and transformation roadmap development.
• Conduct transformation assessments across people, processes, governance, technology, data and risk.
• Develop business cases, strategic recommendations, implementation plans and executive-level materials for transformation programs.

Core Banking Transformation

• Manage workstreams within end-to-end core banking transformation and modernization programs.
• Support implementation, migration, upgrade and optimization initiatives for leading core banking platforms.
• Maintain alignment between business objectives, architecture decisions and technology delivery throughout the transformation lifecycle.
• Develop and govern migration, testing, deployment, cutover and production-readiness strategies.
• Oversee data migration, systems integration and business transformation activities, escalating delivery risks and dependencies as required.
• Manage stakeholders across business, technology, operations, risk and executive leadership teams.

Digital Banking and Innovation

• Lead or manage digital banking initiatives focused on customer experience, channel modernization and digital platform enablement.
• Support the development of digital bank, neo-bank and ecosystem strategies.
• Advise clients on Open Banking, API ecosystems, embedded finance and platform-led business models.
• Guide the adoption of AI, automation, cloud, data and analytics, and intelligent banking solutions.
• Define practical innovation roadmaps that improve customer experience, operational efficiency and business agility.

Program Delivery and Governance

• Manage complex transformation engagements in multi-vendor and multi-stakeholder environments.
• Establish program governance, PMO routines, executive reporting and steering committee materials.
• Manage scope, timelines, budgets, resources, risks, dependencies, issues and delivery quality.
• Oversee testing governance, implementation readiness, cutover planning and post-go-live stabilization.
• Ensure delivery is aligned with client governance, risk, security and regulatory requirements.

Client Management and Business Development

• Build trusted relationships with senior executives, business leaders and technology stakeholders.
• Contribute to proposals, solution design, pursuit preparation, client presentations and commercial negotiations.
• Identify follow-on opportunities and support account growth across banking and financial services clients.
• Contribute to EY Financial Services and Technology Consulting market initiatives across Bahrain and the wider MENA region.
• Develop points of view, industry insights and market-facing content relevant to banking technology transformation.

People Leadership

• Lead, coach and develop consulting teams, creating clear accountability for high-quality delivery.
• Foster collaboration across business, technology and geographically distributed teams.
• Support performance management, mentoring, capability development and knowledge sharing.

• Solid Financial Services and technology consulting experience, with strong knowledge of banking business models, processes and technology landscapes.

To Qualify for the Role, You Must Have

• A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Information Systems, Finance, Business Administration or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 12 years + of relevant professional experience, including substantial experience in Financial Services, technology consulting, banking technology or digital transformation.
• Solid Financial Services and technology consulting experience, ideally gained through a leading consulting firm, major bank or financial institution.
• Proven experience delivering large-scale banking technology transformation programs or major workstreams.
• Strong understanding of banking processes, products, operating models, technology architecture and risk considerations.
• Experience with core banking platforms, digital banking ecosystems, enterprise architecture or technology strategy engagements.
• Proven experience managing senior stakeholders, client relationships, project economics and delivery teams.
• Experience working in complex, multi-vendor program environments and managing interdependent workstreams.
• Excellent written and spoken English. Arabic language capability would be an advantage.
• Willingness and ability to be based in Bahrain and travel within the region as engagement needs require.

Ideally, You'll Also Have

• Experience within a leading consulting firm or a major regional or international financial institution.
• Knowledge of core banking platforms such as Temenos Transact (T24), Infosys Finacle, Oracle Banking, Mambu or similar solutions.
• Understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks, technology operating models and banking regulatory environments.
• Exposure to cloud transformation, AI-enabled solutions, automation, data modernization, cybersecurity and Open Banking initiatives.
• Relevant certifications such as TOGAF, PMP, PRINCE2, SAFe, AWS, Microsoft Azure or similar credentials.
• A postgraduate degree or MBA relevant to technology, business or financial services.
