The opportunity  

We are seeking for Data Architect to join our Consulting practice. Our team is part of EY’s Europe Central (EC) cluster, delivering market leading services to organizations across industries in Cyprus and internationally. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Define and advise clients on data strategies and target-state architectures. 

• Design modern data and analytics solutions leveraging cloud technologies. 

• Review solution designs, technical specifications, and project requirements to ensure alignment with architectural best practices. 

• Lead the design of data architectures including data integration, data modelling, data warehousing, and lakehouse solutions. 

• Assess and recommend technologies for data management, analytics, and AI-driven solutions. 

• Define the scope, approach, and high-level architecture for data transformation initiatives. 

• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable and sustainable solutions. 

• Conduct architecture assessments and identify opportunities for optimization and modernization. 

Skills and Attributes for Success 

• Proven experience as a Data Architect, Solution Architect, or similar role. 

• Strong understanding of modern data architecture patterns, including Data Warehouse, Data Lake, Data Lakehouse, and Data Mesh. 

• Experience reviewing technical designs, architecture documentation, or solution proposals. 

• Strong knowledge of data modelling, data integration, and analytics architectures. 

• Experience with cloud platforms. (GCP preferrable) 

• Ability to work across business and technical teams and communicate complex concepts effectively. 

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills. 

It will be aplus If you have 

• Strong business understanding of the financial sector (Insurance or Banking)   

• Experience working with public sector or large-scale transformation programmes. 

• Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks and architecture review processes. 

• Relevant cloud, architecture, or data certifications. 

• Experience with modern analytics platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake, or BigQuery. 

• Experience with lean/agile software development
