Job Description

Central Operations (Ops) JP is looking for an experienced Program Manager with a strong record of achieving results, to own and execute the Metrics & KPI strategy for the Central Operations Standardization and Cost Out (COSC) team. The COSC team is dedicated to driving operational excellence across Central Operations by establishing robust mechanisms, delivering data-driven insights, and accelerating high-impact programs.

You will own the end-to-end definition, automation, and reporting of CO's controllable P0 metrics and KPIs across all business domains — connecting them directly to AMZL goals. You will solve this by building a clear, CO-controllable metrics framework, automating data pipelines, and evolving reporting from reactive dashboards into a proactive, AI-powered insight engine that predicts trends and alerts teams before issues escalate.

You will work cross-functionally and across geographies with stakeholders at senior levels to understand, implement, and improve metrics programs and data products. This role offers the opportunity to partner closely with multiple functions and teams including program management, delivery station operations, last mile tech, planning, routing, network optimization, finance, analytics, and more in Amazon Logistics (AMZL). Such exposure and collaboration with a variety of teams allow opportunities for further career growth within Amazon and beyond.

At Amazon, you'll work alongside the latest AI and GenAI tools that are increasingly woven into how teams operate: from AI-powered capabilities that accelerate decision-making, to Generative AI that helps you focus on work that truly matters. You'll have opportunities and resources to develop AI fluency at your own pace, with continuous learning built into the culture.

Key job responsibilities
- Lead CO to define CO controllable P0 metrics and KPIs across all functions (Intraweek Planning, Scheduling, Routing, System Configuration, SSD, AMXL, etc.) while connecting them to AMZL-level goals

- Lead data automation and pipeline health initiatives: clarify metric logic and data sources, improve data extraction speed and cost efficiency (ETL vs. Cradle), and resolve upstream data pipeline dependencies
- Design and deliver visualization and reporting for DBR, WBR, MBR/QBR cadences, ensuring leadership has timely, accurate, and actionable insights
- Build a call-out automation knowledge base that captures historical fluctuation patterns and provides automatic deep-dive analysis for red metrics
- Develop a projection capability leveraging AI and historical data to forecast coming-week trends and alert teams to potential fluctuations — especially for PEAK readiness
- Establish a program-to-metric auditing mechanism in partnership with the CO Program Office to validate whether programs improve their target metrics and by how much
- Design and execute the CO Delivery Station satisfaction survey on a quarterly basis, generating reports that help CO understand DS sentiment on process, product, and mechanism quality

A day in the life
You lead meetings with domain function heads to align on metric definitions and review data pipeline health. You coordinate with tech teams to resolve upstream data issues and unblock automation work. You deep-dive into a red metric call-out, building the root-cause analysis and preparing the narrative for the weekly domain WBR. You challenge the status quo by proposing a new AI-driven projection model that could give teams a week's advance warning of volume fluctuations. You plan and organize to ensure seamless execution of quarterly DS satisfaction surveys. You will continuously find new problems to solve and be required to partner with teams across Japan and the globe to deliver for our customers. You take business trips within and outside Japan on a need basis to build your skills, network, and to gain insights from other regions and bring and export best practices to and from Japan.
