Key Responsibilities

Strategic Architecture & Cloud Modernization

• Own the design, strategy, and execution of DaVita’s future-state hybrid cloud and data center network architecture.
• Lead major enterprise technology initiatives, including Google Cloud Platform (GCP) network design and the next phase of the Move to Cloud infrastructure modernization.
• Proactively identify and drive high-value structural optimizations, developing ROI business cases for advanced network enhancements.

Enterprise Network Security & Automation

• Serve as the enterprise network lead for strategic security infrastructure engagements, including Palo Alto, Global Protect, and Illumio deployments.
• Lead and expand the use of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation, specifically utilizing Terraform scripting for GCP and hybrid cloud deployments.
• Establish and govern cross-functional network standards, serving as the ultimate escalation point for the most complex, multi-layer routing and firewall issues.

Technical Leadership & Mentorship

• Act as a dedicated technical mentor and coach for the broader Network Engineering organization, actively investing in the growth and upskilling of junior, mid-level, and senior engineers.
• Guide the technical transition of the team by delegating tactical operational needs to Lead Engineers, ensuring a sustainable, highly capable engineering practice.
• Translate highly complex technical concepts into user-friendly, actionable business narratives for cross-functional leadership and executive stakeholders.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner seamlessly across IT lanes (Development, Application Support, Security, Architecture) to integrate robust network designs into broader enterprise technology solutions.
• Embody the DaVita Way and Techforce strategy by fostering a deep sense of belonging, continuous improvement, and cross-team trust.

Qualifications

• Experience: Extensive background in enterprise network engineering, with proven experience driving architectural strategy and cloud network deployments at scale.
• Technical Mastery: Exceptionally deep knowledge of complex enterprise network topologies, perimeter security, advanced routing, and firewall configurations (e.g., Palo Alto, complex ACL/Firewall modifications).
• Cloud & Automation: Advanced command of modern cloud network architectures (GCP heavily preferred) and infrastructure automation tools (Terraform).
• Problem Solving: Pragmatic, highly reliable troubleshooter capable of rapidly diagnosing multi-layer issues and taking end-to-end accountability for technical resolution.
• Leadership: Exceptional communication and emotional intelligence skills. Demonstrated track record of mentoring engineering talent and influencing cross-functional leaders without formal direct-reporting authority.

This position will be open for a minimum of three days.

The Salary Range for the role is $129,000.00 - $205,000.00 per year.  

Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience.
