The opportunity

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Manager  to help add value to our private and public sector clients on their complex  infrastructure projects by helping them define, plan, procure and delivery on complex infrastructure projects. The role includes supporting risk management, project governance, feasibility studies, PPP implementation, bankability processes, and transformation strategies that deliver value.

Your key responsibilities

• Manage more than one assignment at a time while  demonstrating  quality and consistency of performance in every assignment and the ability to Support the operations and governance of client's large/complex projects and programs by designing and implementing bankability & funding strategies for Infrastructure projects.
• Support clients to lead large scale planning and execution of strategic large/complex infrastructure projects and programs e.g. feasibility studies and PPP implementation.

• Oversee comprehensive project planning and execution for large-scale infrastructure programs, managing aspects like scope, workplans, scheduling, and budgeting.
• Assist with feasibility studies, public-private partnership (PPP) design and implementation, financial modeling, and other project development tasks.
• Collaborate with government stakeholders, development finance institutions, private-sector partners, and community groups across several African countries.
• Establish effective governance structures while handling risks, dependencies, compliance, and safeguards.
• Facilitate procurement activities, including drafting terms of reference, evaluating bids, and managing vendors.
• Track budgets, schedules, quality, and deliverables, proactively identifying risks and creating mitigation plans.
• Prepare reports, dashboards, presentations, and support monitoring and evaluation efforts.
• Work alongside technical experts and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project integration.
• Use in-depth understanding of Africa's infrastructure landscape to tailor project approaches as needed.
• Help enhance project management methodologies, tools, and templates through ongoing improvements.
• Contribute to EY Parthenon team growth via training, recruiting, and sharing knowledge.
• Show professionalism and confidence in engaging with diverse stakeholders and management teams, adapting readily to change and communicating work effectively.
• Apply insights and expertise from client engagements to broader business contexts.
• Lead and facilitate infrastructure project development, financial modeling, feasibility assessments, and PPP design and implementation for clients in both the public and private sectors.
• Monitor budgets, schedules, work quality, project scope, and client deliverables. Identify potential engagement risks and barriers, develop mitigation strategies, and adjust plans as required.
• Coordinate closely with various teams to ensure alignment and maintain clear communication throughout projects.
• Assist in pursuing new business, building strong client relationships, understanding needs, and promoting EY’s solutions.
• Utilize and expand your network to help partners generate business opportunities and strengthen external relationships.
• Showcase deep technical skills and industry knowledge, staying updated on best practices and regulations.
• Support EY Parthenon's people development by leading or contributing to training, recruitment, and wellness initiatives.
• Promote continuous improvement by encouraging feedback, spotting opportunities for enhancement, and sharing expertise and current learning with the team.

To qualify for the role you must have

• MBA and/or professional certification (e.g. PMP, Pr. Eng/Tech, CA, CFA, preferred).
• At least 10 years relevant work experience (consulting experience highly desired)
• Experience in one or more of the following: Strategy Project Management Office, Financial modelling, Capital Project/Programme Management, Capital/ Infrastructure Planning and Delivery Management, Revenue protection and enhancement,  experience in delivering infrastructure PPP projects
•  Ability to manage strategic and complex infrastructure projects
• Ability to apply analytical and conceptual thinking and provide structure to complex and ambiguous projects
• Effective time management and organisational skills, with ability to work under pressure while meeting the requisite quality delivery
• Strong commercial awareness and business acumen
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate and work effectively
