Job Description

The Bespoke Solutions Teams is looking for an experienced Senior Program Manager to own contractor operations, vendor management, and lab/manufacturing coordination for a high-assurance hardware program within AWS Infrastructure Services — the team building security and encryption devices for government customers.

This is a hands-on operational leadership role. You will consolidate contractor hiring and management, own vendor and license agreements, and serve as the operational backbone that lets our senior engineers stay focused on delivery. You will be the connective tissue across engineering, supply chain, security, and external manufacturing partners — removing friction and reducing key-person dependencies on a fast-moving classified program.

You will own the end-to-end contractor lifecycle, manage vendor and license agreements, coordinate contract manufacturing (including onboarding a new contract manufacturer), and serve as the lab owner. Your success is measured by smooth operational execution, reduced administrative load on engineering leads, and reliable delivery of contractor and manufacturing support as the program scales toward production.

If Arlington, VA (Arlington HQ2):

This role will sit in our new headquarters in Northern Virginia, where Amazon will invest $2.5 billion dollars, occupy 4 million square feet of energy efficient office space, and create at least 25,000 new full-time jobs. Our employees and the neighboring community will also benefit from the associated investments from the Commonwealth including infrastructure updates, public transportation improvements, and new access to Reagan National Airport.

By working together on behalf of our customers, we are building the future one innovative product, service, and idea at a time. Are you ready to embrace the challenge? Come build the future with us.

This position requires that the candidate selected must be a US Citizen and currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance. The position further requires that, after start, the selected candidate obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph or commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.

Key job responsibilities
Contractor & Resource Management

- Consolidate contractor hiring and management responsibilities.
- Own the end-to-end contractor lifecycle — sourcing, onboarding, performance tracking, and off-boarding
- Reduce key-person dependencies by establishing repeatable contractor management processes

Vendor, License & Lab Ownership

- Manage vendor and license agreements
- Take ownership of the unclassified lab and similar work-streams
- Serve as the lab owner

Contract Manufacturing

- Own contract manufacturing for the program, including onboarding a new contract manufacturer
- Handle associated administrative tasks including purchasing coordination.
- Partner with supply chain and manufacturing teams to keep prototype and production builds on schedule

Cross-Organization Coordination

- Partner with engineering, systems engineering, security, and leadership to keep operational execution tight
- Serve as primary operational liaison for contractor, vendor, and manufacturing matters
- Provide program status, risk, and resourcing visibility to engineering leads and program leadership

A day in the life
You will join a team within AWS Infrastructure Services that designs, develops, and delivers high-assurance security and encryption hardware for highly regulated government use cases. The team executes against a multi-year roadmap spanning hardware, firmware, programmable logic, and systems engineering — with a growing contractor base and expanding manufacturing footprint. This Program Manager role is the operational anchor that keeps contractor, vendor, and manufacturing execution running smoothly as the program scales from prototype into production.
