Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Tax Consultant to join our robust Business Tax Advisory team who help our Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) clients understand and manage their tax compliance and reporting obligations. The position is within the Tax services department in Nairobi, Kenya.

Your key responsibilities:

1. You will be part of a team serving clients in various public and private industries and sectors.
2. Support the successful delivery of tax projects, such as preparation of tax returns, advisories, support in relation to tax compliance, tax audits and dispute resolution.
3. Work on a broad portfolio of clients providing advice and support on a range of tax issues.
4. Support the team in the delivery of tax projects.
5. Collaborate with a team of tax professionals to combine diverse cross-border experience with local tax knowledge across a broad spectrum of industries.
6. Participate and assist in preparing for meetings with management teams.
7. Develop and maintain productive working relationships with client personnel.
8. Prepare and participate in client workshops, presentations and educational –go to market initiatives.

Desired Candidate Profile

Does this sound like you?

• A Bachelor’s degree in either Economics/Business/Finance/Accounting or legal field with a minimum of upper second-class or its equivalent (French Licence (Bac+3).
• A minimum overall grade of a B in high school and B in both English & Mathematics (65% Distinction and above)
• Technical expertise in tax matters.
• At least three years’ experience in DRC taxation matters.
• Knowledge of Customs & Excise matters will be an added advantage.
• Good working knowledge of OHADA.
• Proficient in French and able to communicate in English.
• You are a Congolese national to be based in Nairobi, Kenya.
• Are you willing to relocate and be localised in Kenya?
