Job Description

Are you energized by solving complex network design problems at scale? Amazon's Rapid and Rural Logistics (R2L) Supply Chain team is looking for a Senior Supply Chain Manager to lead site selection and launch planning for our Sub-Same Day (SSD) delivery network. In this role, you will conduct topology analysis, evaluate real estate options, and develop jurisdictional proposals and volume plans that shape where and how we expand. Your recommendations feed directly into financial modeling and capital approval decisions, making your work a critical input to one of Amazon's fastest-growing delivery programs.

This is a high-visibility opportunity at an inflection point: the SSD network is preparing for its largest expansion yet, and the team is investing in scalable, automated launch and expansion processes to support rapid growth in the years ahead. You will partner with Finance, Real Estate, Operations, S&OP, and Delivery Experience (DEX) teams to turn data into actionable plans that get new sites open on time and on budget.

Key job responsibilities
- Conduct topology analysis using demand estimation and optimization tools to develop jurisdictional coverage proposals and volume plans for new and existing metro areas.
- Partner with Finance and Real Estate to translate site proposals into financial payback models that support the site selection and capital approval process.
- Collaborate with S&OP, launch, and DEX teams to align demand forecasts, capacity allocation, and launch timelines across the network.
- Identify and implement process improvements that scale and automate the jurisdictional planning and launch functions, reducing manual effort as annual launch volume grows.
- Manage trade-offs across competing priorities — building size, coverage boundaries, timeline, and cost — and present clear recommendations to leadership.

A day in the life
You will spend much of your time working in optimization and planning tools, estimating zip-code-level demand and mapping it against real estate options to build the strongest possible site proposal. From there, you will join cross-functional working sessions with planning and launch teams to align on timelines and capacity targets. When a live coverage gap surfaces, you may step in to help resolve it quickly, but most of your work is proactive and roadmap-driven. Expect a mix of heads-down analytical work and collaborative problem-solving with partners across the organization.

Amazon offers a full range of benefits that support you and eligible family members, including domestic partners and their children. Benefits can vary by location, the number of regularly scheduled hours you work, length of employment, and job status such as seasonal or temporary employment.

The benefits that generally apply to regular, full-time employees include:
- Medical, Dental, and Vision Coverage
- Maternity and Parental Leave Options
- Paid Time Off (PTO)
- 401(k) Plan

If you are not sure that every qualification on the list above describes you exactly, we'd still love to hear from you!

At Amazon, we value people with unique backgrounds, experiences, and skillsets. If you’re passionate about this role and want to make an impact on a global scale, please apply!

About the team
The R2L Topology team supports several initiatives at the core of Amazon's delivery strategy, including sub-same day, rural, and grocery fulfillment. Today the team is roughly 10 supply chain managers and is expected to more than double over the next year. We sit within the broader R2L Supply Chain team of nearly 200 supply chain managers and we partner closely with the demand planning and Speed organizations within DEX to ensure volume and capacity plans are optimized for the best customer experience and delivery speed. Joining now means you will help shape how we scale from dozens of launches per year to hundreds in the coming years.

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of supply chain experience
- 5+ years of program or project management experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization
- Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

Preferred Qualifications:

- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
- 5+ years of owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel at an advanced level, including: pivot tables, macros, index/match, vlookup, VBA, data links, etc.
