About the Team
In October 2025, Lowe’s completed its acquisition of Foundation Building Materials, FBM, a leading North American specialty distributor of interior building products headquartered in Santa Ana, California. FBM has grown significantly through acquisitions over the past decade, creating a large and data-rich business with an opportunity to further strengthen and standardize its FP&A, reporting, forecasting and decision-support capabilities. Lowe’s India is now building a dedicated FBM FP&A and Decision Support capability within FDS&A.
Job Summary
- The Analyst is not expected to independently design the entire analytical framework or provide senior-level thought leadership. The expectation is that they are an excellent executor, technically strong, intellectually curious, highly reliable, and capable of independently engaging with FBM partners on the work they own.
- The Analyst, FBM FP&A will support financial reporting, forecasting, business performance analysis, financial modeling and decision support for FBM.
- This role requires a strong combination of finance fundamentals, analytical ability, technical capability and stakeholder management.
- The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Manager and Senior Analysts while progressively building independent ownership of recurring FP&A processes, reports, analytical models and stakeholder relationships.
- While the role will receive guidance from more experienced team members, the Analyst is expected to operate with a high degree of ownership. This person must be available for a minimum of 3-hours of coverage per business day with US FBM partners.
- The Analyst must leverage Lowe’s best FP&A and retail practices and apply them to the FBM business.
- This includes independently interacting with FBM Finance partners in the United States, understanding requirements, resolving questions, following up on issues, explaining outputs and ensuring deliverables are completed accurately and on time
Roles & Responsibilities
Financial Reporting and FP&A
- Monitor, report and analyze business performance and critical financial and operational KPIs.
- Support daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly financial reporting cycles.
- Support month-end close, forecasting, planning and outlook processes.
- Prepare variance analysis across sales, margin, expenses, productivity and other business metrics.
- Develop clear financial commentary explaining key drivers of performance.
- Support scenario analysis and financial modeling under the guidance of Senior Analysts and the Senior Manager.
- Establish and maintain recurring business and financial metrics.
- Support annual planning and forecasting activities using key operational and financial drivers.
Reporting and Performance Analysis
- Build and maintain recurring financial reports, dashboards and scorecards.
- Ensure exceptional accuracy, completeness and timeliness across all deliverables.
- Support executive-level reporting where errors in numbers, definitions or commentary are unacceptable.
- Analyze financial and operational results to identify trends, outliers and emerging areas requiring further investigation.
- Convert large datasets into clear and concise performance views.
- Support the rationalization and automation of existing reports.
- Help transition manual reporting processes toward scalable and repeatable solutions.
- Support development of self-service reporting tools where appropriate.
Data and Technical Capability
- Work with large and unfamiliar financial and operational datasets.
- Navigate data lakes, tables, columns, hierarchies and business definitions with support from senior team members.
- Use SQL to extract, combine, validate and analyze data.
- Use Python for data manipulation, automation and analytical tasks.
- Perform data collection, cleansing, validation and reconciliation across multiple sources.
- Identify inconsistencies or potential data-quality issues and escalate them appropriately.
- Build and maintain structured datasets for recurring analysis and reporting.
- Use Excel extensively for financial analysis and modeling.
- Support Power BI dashboard development and automated reporting solutions.
- Continuously improve technical capabilities across SQL, Python, Excel and Power BI.
Business Partnership
- Work directly with FBM Finance partners and other business stakeholders in the United States.
- Independently manage routine stakeholder interactions for processes and deliverables owned by the Analyst.
- Proactively seek clarification when requirements, data or business context are unclear.
- Participate actively in recurring Finance meetings and performance discussions.
- Explain financial results and analytical outputs clearly to business partners.
- Build sufficient business understanding to discuss performance drivers rather than simply report numbers.
- Develop strong working relationships with FBM partners through responsiveness, accuracy and reliability.
- Escalate issues thoughtfully rather than waiting for deadlines to be missed.
Problem Solving and Analysis
- Work with team members and stakeholders to understand business problems before beginning analysis.
- Support analysis of ambiguous questions where all required information may not initially be available.
- Break larger problems into manageable analytical steps with guidance from Senior Analysts and the Senior Manager.
- Test assumptions and validate analytical conclusions before communicating them.
- Develop sensitivity analyses and scenarios where appropriate.
- Contribute ideas and analytical perspectives during team problem-solving sessions.
- Support ad hoc projects beyond regular reporting responsibilities.
- Be willing to step into business problems outside the Analyst's primary area when the team requires support.
Automation and Process Improvement
- Identify repetitive manual activities that can be automated.
- Use SQL, Python, Excel, Power Query, Power BI or other available tools to improve process efficiency.
- Help document recurring processes and create clear SOPs.
- Improve controls, reconciliations and repeatability of financial reporting.
- Work with Senior Analysts to simplify and standardize reporting processes.
- Help move the team away from manual data compilation toward scalable reporting solutions.

Years of Experience
- 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in FP&A, Analytics, Business Finance or a related field.
Education Qualification
- MBA in Finance, postgraduate qualification in Finance, B.Com with relevant postgraduate qualification, B.E., B.Tech or equivalent degree.
Primary Skills
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and MS Office.
- Working knowledge of SQL, with the ability to independently write queries for data extraction and analysis.
- Working knowledge of Python for data manipulation, analysis or automation.
- Exposure to Power BI or similar Business Intelligence tools.
- Strong data collection, collation, cleansing and validation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work with financial reports, dashboards, forecasting and variance analysis.
- Ability to work with large datasets and develop an understanding of unfamiliar data structures.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Strong analytical and data-interpretation skills.
- Ability to work independently within clearly defined areas of ownership.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with geographically distributed stakeholders.
- Experience in retail, distribution, FMCG or a similar industry is preferred.

What This Role Is, and Is Not
- The Senior Manager and Senior Analysts will provide business context, analytical guidance, problem structuring and coaching.
- However, this is also not intended to be a passive execution role.
- The Analyst will be expected to progressively own work independently, interact directly with FBM stakeholders, understand the business behind the numbers and develop the technical and financial depth required to take on increasingly complex responsibilities.
