Job Description
Are you excited to drive high-visibility, strategic logistics and technology solutions? AMXL Japan is looking for a Program Manager who continuously engages across business, technical and operational teams to deliver bigger smiles for our customers.
At Amazon, we're working to be the most customer-centric company on earth. To get there, we need exceptionally talented, bright, and driven people. Amazon is one of the most recognizable brand names in the world and we distribute millions of products each year to our loyal customers. Amazon has great opportunities to pursue a career as a leader in Analytical Planning & Management. We know that learning through experience is what transforms talented people into great leaders. Our roles are designed to accelerate the growth of leaders through challenging field experiences that stretch individual capability. Our Operations environment presents the candidates with great challenges in dealing with front line management, and driving scalable and continuous improvements across our Fulfillment Centers, Supply Chain & Transportation execution teams.
The Program Manager will join the AMXL JP Planning & Insights program, which owns the planning mechanisms that AMXL JP's supply chain, first mile, middle mile, last mile and program teams make decisions on: S&OP and inbound planning inputs, forecast and capacity models, automated insights for weekly and monthly business reviews, and the measurement systems behind them. The Program Manager will own these mechanisms end to end, from defining the decision a stakeholder needs to make, through building the data logic and models that inform it, to driving adoption in the business review cycle. This is a hands-on role: the Program Manager will work directly with large operational datasets using advanced SQL, build and maintain the analyses and planning tools the mechanisms run on, and partner with the central JP Ops data organization for platform and engineering.
At Amazon, you'll work alongside the latest AI and GenAI tools that are increasingly woven into how teams operate: from AI-powered capabilities that accelerate decision-making, to Generative AI that helps you focus on work that truly matters. You'll have opportunities and resources to develop AI fluency at your own pace, with continuous learning built into the culture.

# Own the effective communication of metrics, insights and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership
# Drive automation and scalability into recurring planning, reporting and analysis so mechanisms run without manual effort
# Define program requirements by working backwards from the decisions operations and planning teams need to make, and translate them into metrics, models and review mechanisms
# Partner with the central data and engineering teams on platform, datasets and visualization direction
A day in the life
You attend daily business reviews and understand what's happening to key network metrics and reporting needs. You spend time with strategy & ops teams to understand the key planning and insight challenges and collaborate with relevant global and domestic stakeholders to build sustainable planning mechanisms for AMXL JP. You challenge the status quo and drive data based decision making within your team. You take business trips within and outside Japan as required to build your skills and network or test your plans and assumptions. Additionally, you are always ready to jump in and take charge when problems and challenges emerge.
