Job Description
We are particularly interested in candidates with a strong commitment to caring for individuals with inherited metabolic disorders and a passion for advancing therapies for rare diseases. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care for patients with metabolic and genetic disorders across the lifespan, including newborn screening follow-up, diagnostic evaluations, long-term disease management, and multidisciplinary care. The ideal candidate will combine excellence in patient care and collaborative practice with a vision for growing clinical and research programs in metabolic genetics and rare disease therapeutics.
The Division of Medical Genetics and Genomics includes clinical and biochemical geneticists, genetic counselors, a metabolic dietitian, and dedicated support staff working together to provide comprehensive care for children and adults with genetic and rare disorders. It offers a unique opportunity to develop a career at the intersection of rare disease care, precision medicine, and therapeutic innovation. Faculty may participate in industry-sponsored and investigator-initiated clinical trials, natural history studies, and translational research, while helping implement novel therapies, including gene-targeted treatments.
Academic rank and compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Minimum Requirements: Medical Doctor or equivalent. American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ABMGG) board eligible/certified. Licensed/eligible for license in South Carolina.
