The following position is to join our RTX Enterprise Services team:

 

The Associate Director, HCM Core & Workday Security is a senior HR technology leader responsible for driving strategy, governance, and optimization across Workday HCM Core and Security. They oversee the configuration, administration, and continuous improvement of foundational HCM capabilities to ensure data integrity, process efficiency, and strong alignment with organizational HR goals. This role serves as the owner of Workday security model, ensuring the platform’s access model is compliant, audit-ready and aligned with global data protection requirements.

 

What you will do

  • Partner in delivering on the strategic direction for Workday HCM foundational structures (supervisory org design, position management, data governance) and hire to retire business processes
  • Design and enforce Workday security policies.  Develop, maintain, and evolve a robust Workday security governance model in collaboration with functional leads and process owners. Establish security protocols and procedures to ensure the protection of configuration access and visibility of sensitive HR and business data
  • Oversee configuration and governance of all core HCM processes and personal data and partner with functional leads across the organization to coordinate, assess, and execute any cross‑functional or tenant‑wide changes within the Workday platform.
  • Lead long-term planning, roadmap development, and prioritization for HCM Core & Security enhancements, projects, initiatives, and risk mitigation activities.
  • Partner with HR, Global Cybersecurity, Data Privacy Office, Audit teams and Legal/Compliance teams to align security practices with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
  • Own enterprise-wide Workday security model design, including functional role strategy, segregation‑of‑duties, least‑privilege access, and sensitive data protections.
  • Lead relationship with internal stakeholders, including HR and Enterprise Services teams and Workday support partners.
  • Guide and approve security changes proposed by analysts or cross‑functional teams to maintain system integrity and compliance.
  • Provide leadership and decision-making for foundational data structures: supervisory orgs, positions, locations, worker data and business process framework.
  • Continuously assess opportunities to improve process efficiency, new Workday features, automation and collaborate with stakeholders to redesign workflows that enhance both operational effectiveness and the overall user experience
  • Ensure proper controls and documentation exist for business processes and sensitive data access
  • Provide strategic leadership for the biannual Workday release cycle across all domains, with the team serving as the Release Manager accountable for orchestrating cross‑functional alignment, ensuring holistic impact evaluation, driving end‑to‑end testing readiness, guiding stakeholder engagement, and steering the strategic disposition of all configuration updates that shape the Workday tenant’s future state
  • Lead and mentor the Workday functional team
  • Oversee workload prioritization, capacity management, and capability building across the Workday functional group
  • Serve as escalation tier for complex HCM and Security issues

 

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree and 12+ years’ of related experience with 10 years of Workday leadership experience within HCM and/or Security
  • Proven ownership of Workday security architecture and HCM foundational design
  • Experience working with cross-functional influence
  • Deep understanding of HR operations, data governance, regulatory requirements, and enterprise security models
  • Strong stakeholder management, executive communication, and leadership capabilities with demonstrated experience leading cross-functional HR/IT transformation or system governance programs

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Workday Pro accreditation or certifications
  • Background in strategic workforce or job architecture initiatives

The salary range for this role is 157,200 USD - 298,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
