Job Description

We are looking for a Vendor Manager to support the USMCA Direct Imports program by partnering with top vendors in Mexico to grow cross-border shipments into the United States. You will be responsible for supporting the end-to-end import supply chain and for collaborating with local Vendor Managers and compliance teams to develop and implement inventory management and trade-compliance strategies that optimize customer experience. You will help lay the groundwork for Mexican vendors to work with Amazon at scale, leveraging nearshoring opportunities and the USMCA framework.

The position requires an individual who can work autonomously in a fast-paced, demanding, and often ambiguous environment. Because this role sits at the intersection of cross-border trade operations, vendor management, and regulatory compliance—and involves coordinating with multiple stakeholders across the US and Mexico—we need someone with strong stakeholder management capabilities, a solid understanding of trade logistics, and a high bias for action.

Key job responsibilities
Educate vendors with manufacturing or operations in Mexico on the USMCA Direct Imports program and the opportunity to supply US Fulfillment Centers.
Build and maintain relationships with senior leaders of partnered vendors to grow the cross-border import business under USMCA.
Develop and improve the MX→US import pipeline to support cost savings, nearshoring goals, and new selection for US customers.
Support the onboarding of new vendors into the Amazon supply chain, ensuring compliance with USMCA rules of origin, product regulations, and merchandising processes.
Liaise with US-based Vendor Managers to understand selection needs, pricing requirements, and standard contractual terms.
Coordinate with key stakeholders across the US and Mexico—including trade compliance, transportation, and operations teams—to maintain alignment and resolve cross-border bottlenecks.
Contribute to the development of best practices, SOPs, and contract standards for the USMCA import channel.
Support category teams in monitoring, analyzing, and owning key performance indicators such as vendor import share, out-of-stock rate, vendor operational metrics, GPP compliance, and marketing investments.
Work with vendors and Amazon operations to ensure a reliable, compliant, and cost-effective flow of goods—from purchase order through cross-border transit to receive at US FCs.

A day in the life
Work with internal teams to understand the systems and variables that affect purchasing and vendor management decisions.
Lead projects and regular business improvement initiatives.
