Job Description

Amazon is building an SAP S/4HANA platform that will unify the entire supply chain into a single digital thread — connecting sales and distribution, procurement and supplier collaboration, manufacturing, logistics, and finance and accounting into one coherent system. As the Principal SAP Solution Architect, you will be the senior authority on how this ERP operates across every domain, shaping end-to-end business processes before they become a technical build. This is a business-process leadership role first: you will drive process standardization, lead cross-functional design reviews, and translate how the business actually operates into a scalable SAP design. If you are energized by complexity, thrive in ambiguity, and want to define the platform that powers a rapidly growing robotics business, we want to talk to you.

Key job responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end business process architecture spanning sales and distribution, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, and finance and accounting, ensuring processes are standardized and designed to deliver the best outcomes across the supply chain.
- Lead Business Process Design reviews across all domains, facilitating cross-functional alignment sessions with Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing, Sales Operations, and Finance leaders to drive decisions on standard process adoption, exceptions, and trade-offs.
- Translate deep functional understanding of order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, plan-to-produce, and record-to-report flows into a coherent SAP design that the delivery team can build, while incorporating master data governance, process controls, segregation of duties, and compliance requirements from the start.
- Set the multi-year process and solution roadmap, influence business and engineering leadership on platform trade-offs, and mentor functional analysts and architects across the program.
- Navigate ambiguity across a fast-evolving greenfield program by bringing clarity to undefined requirements, challenging legacy ways of working, and championing modern SAP capabilities that enable the organization to adapt quickly.

A day in the life
You start your morning reviewing open design decisions from yesterday's Business Process Design sessions, then join a cross-functional working session where procurement, manufacturing, and finance stakeholders debate how a new process flow should work in SAP standard versus a custom extension. After aligning the group on a path forward, you sketch the updated process flow and share it with the delivery architects. In the afternoon you might mentor a junior functional analyst on a tricky order-to-cash scenario, review a system-integrator proposal, or draft the next iteration of the multi-year solution roadmap.

About the team
Our team designs and delivers Amazon's next generation of robotic systems. Our ERP program is a new initiative charged with building the SAP S/4HANA backbone that connects Amazon's supply chain end to end. The team is a small, collaborative group of functional architects, engineers, and business partners who value clarity over complexity and standard processes over custom code. We are in the early stages of the program, which means you will have a direct hand in shaping the platform, the processes, and the culture as we scale.

Basic Qualifications:

- Experience developing technology solutions and evangelising end-to-end technology roadmaps that guide IT transformations toward cloud computing
- Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences and at C-level, including training, workshops, publications
- 12+ years of SAP implementation and supply chain business process development
- Experience with building greenfield systems and designing business processes
- Experience across discrete and repetitive manufacturing environments

Preferred Qualifications:

- Deep functional knowledge across multiple SAP domains — Sales & Distribution, Materials Management / Procurement, Supplier Collaboration (e.g. Ariba, SAP Business Network), and Finance & Controlling
- Experience integrating manufacturing and logistics processes with the broader supply chain and finance into a single end-to-end design
- Experience integrating in-house manufacturing scenarios, consignment stock, and contract manufacturing processes into a single end-to-end supply chain design
- Experience leading Business Process Design (BPD) reviews and driving process standardization across cross-functional organizations
- Experience aligning systems and business process end to end across order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, plan-to-produce, and record-to-report
- Experience with SAP clean-core design concepts, including design and build using non-SAP technologies in domains such as Generative / Agentic AI and data & analytics
- Experience working backwards from business requirements to shape ERP configuration and integration decisions
- Experience mentoring functional teams and setting process and technical direction across a large delivery program
