Job Description:

An opportunity for a Composite Materials Repair Technician has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space, Getafe (Madrid).


The selected candidate will join the Auxiliary Workshop Team, providing specialized composite repair services for key military aircraft programs including MRTT, A400M Retrofit, COMBAT, and F18. The team is dedicated to maintaining high quality and safety standards while supporting both local operations in Getafe and occasional deployment support across various Spanish military bases.


RESPONSIBILITIES

The main tasks of the jobholder will be:

  • Perform structural and cosmetic composite repairs and reworks on aircraft components (laminated, sandwich, glass fabric, prepreg plies) using vacuum bags, heating blankets, and sicoteva machines in compliance with AMMs, IPCs, work orders, and technical sheets.
  • Execute component preparation and verify that all parts meet applicable documentation and traceability requirements under EASA Part 145 and POA standards.
  • Record completed operations and serial component traceability accurately using digital support tools (tablets) and management systems.
  • Ensure strict adherence to Quality, Health & Safety, FOD, DIM, and Housekeeping standards within the workshop area.
  • Maintain active VOC (Voice of Customer) communication within the team to enhance internal customer satisfaction.
  • Support short-term missions to different Spanish military bases for specific aircraft repairs when required.

  • Education: Vocational Training / Certificate (FP Grado Superior / Medio) in Aeronautical Maintenance, Composite Materials, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience:At least 5 years of proven experience in aircraft composite repairs and maintenance (MMCC) with accredited certification.
  • Soft skills: Proactive attitude, excellent interpersonal skills and high adaptability to changes.
  • Languages: Spanish (fluent) and Basic English (ability to read and understand technical manuals, procedures, and documentation).
  • Technical knowledge: Hands-on expertise in laminated/sandwich rework, glass fabric repairs, prepreg plies, heating repairs, and proficiency using digital tools/tablets for workshop documentation. Operating experience under EASA Part 145 and POA regulations.
  • Valuable / Nice to have: Willingness and eligibility to obtain National and NATO Security Clearance, HPS, and AMMA. Availability for prompt short-term travel (max 7–10 days).
