As Workpackage Manager, you will be in charge of the technical management of internal development project(s) around mobile radar systems. You work in close cooperation with HW-, SW and FPGA Engineering, Purchase, project managers, external and internal partners to provide ambitious solutions addressing the demanding needs in a changing world.
  

Your mission as Work Package Manager (m/f/d)


As Workpackage Manager, you will be in charge of the technical management of internal development project(s) around mobile radar systems. You work in close cooperation with HW-, SW and FPGA Engineering, Purchase, project managers, external and internal partners to provide ambitious solutions addressing the demanding needs in a changing world.

  • Plan & coordinate the activities for the development of a digital building block (System-, Hardware-, Firmware- and Software Engineering) to ensure that the delivery milestones are met
  • Prioritization of tasks and resource management in your work package
  • Accompany the development process in ensure the application of the Thales processes
  • Address critical topics and ensure that they are resolved by specialist departments and experts.
  • Be contact point for internal stakeholders such purchase department, supply chain, configuration management or specialists
  • Monitoring of engineering activities (technical progress vs planning, estimated costs at completion vs. cost baseline) and technical risk management
  • Presentation of project status to management and customers

We are looking forward to: 


  • Completed technical master studies, e.g. in computer science, electronical engineering, ideally linked to radar or comparable professional experience
  • Solid professional experience in engineering management, ideally in defense business
  • Professional experiences in embedded software or hardware engineering adventageous
  • Experience in managing complex development work packages
  • Well familiar with scheduling and planning of engineering activities (incl. cost estimation)
  • Knowledge of relevant norms and standards in defense or aerospace business (e.g. MIL-STD-810 or STANAG 4370 AECTP 300/400)
  • High focus on customer needs
  • Strong communication and lateral leadership skills
  • Strong ability to work in a team with colleagues from Engineering, Industry and Project- and Product management both in a national and international environment
  • Understanding of business objectives and willingness to lead & manage
  • Good knowledge of spoken and written German and English
