As part of this role you will be a part of highly creative and efficient CSA BIM team tasked with tackling the most fascinating and challenging problems in designing, constructing, and operating Amazon owned Data Center facilities globally.
Key job responsibilities
Daily responsibilities will include designing the Structural systems for our data centers, utilizing Revit to create and maintain BIM models. You must be able to work independently with occasional guidance, and work within a team environment to accomplish assigned tasks. This includes working with internal groups, as well as external suppliers, consultants, manufacturers, vendors, and contractors.
Your duties will include:
Being self-motivated to work within the BIM Designer group and across other teams.
Preparing and developing detailed Structural Revit models.
Developing and publishing construction documentation for Structural building system designs in a fast-paced environment to meet scheduled deliverables.
Creating and maintaining regional and global libraries, including Revit Families, Details, and Detail Components.
Updating and modifying existing models, studies, and construction documents, as required.
Assisting the creation and maintenance of BIM templates and enforcing BIM standards.
Participating in design coordination meetings with other trades for clash detection and resolution.
Working on concurrent projects in multiple geographic locations.
Assisting information exchange processes between internal and external customers in a Common Data Environment (CDE).
Recording and reporting key metrics to management.
Traveling to data center sites for engineering evaluations and surveys, as required. On average: once or twice a year.
Being positive and always offering creative, out-of-the-box solutions.

A day in the life
Our BIM Designers create / maintain AWS ACS templates. They partner with consultants on projects, guiding and overseeing processes to produce CD deliverables. They ensure the ACS consultants adhere to AWS BIM standards. As part of this team you will carry out ACS documents reviews on in flight projects to ensure the highest standard is delivered and working with the wider AWS ACS teams to discuss process improvements, document standards, innovations and project obstacles. Our BIM Designers are capable of working with minimal oversight, have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and maintain high working standards. Flexible to design changes, able to adapt to fast-paced drawing execution requirements, our BIM Designers define problems and dive deep on ambiguous design requests. The role will require you to work with a Global mindset as your work will cross between Global regions.
About the team
You will work with our internal BIM Design Services Team, Internal Design Engineering teams and external consultants to innovate and drive standards during the design stage of projects, leveraging all aspects of the Model capability to help consultants deliver efficient coordinated designs to IFC stage.

Basic Qualifications:
- Experience with the design, construction, operation, or maintenance of mission critical facilities, especially data centers
- Experience directly related to the design or construction of data centers or critical infrastructure or large-scale mechanical and electrical plants
- Experience using Revit for producing Structural engineering models and drawings.
- Experience using AutoCAD to produce architecture or engineering drawings
- Experience of working with multi discipline teams in an structural coordination role – shows strong ownership of projects.
- Experience working with Navisworks
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with building codes and regulations for your region
- Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production
- Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Structural Engineering
- Understanding of mechanical and electrical services in datacenters
- Proficient coordinating Structure with mission critical systems
- Experience directly related to Data Center design and construction
- Experience and knowledge applying Lean principals to design modelling and drawing production and experience with large scale designs
