OUR TEAM


Our Munitions teams in Benalla and Mulwala produce propellants, explosives and munitions for defence and commercial uses. With ongoing investment into research and development, we produce some of the world’s most high-performing guided weapons and explosive ordnance systems. And being at the forefront of a rapidly evolving industry gives our teams constant opportunities to build on their technical expertise.

 


YOUR ROLE


Working from our Melbourne Office on Wurundjeri land, your role purpose is to lead the strategy and assist in implementation for new and existing energetics products. You can expect to:


 

  • Lead Energetics Strategy – Help define and execute R&D roadmaps to drive innovation in energetics technology, aligning with product roadmaps and client needs.
  • Technical Authority for Energetics – Serve as the go-to expert for all technical aspects of energetics, ensuring regulatory compliance and safety standards.
  • Drive Capture and Bid Work – Play a key role in capture and bid activities by translating client requirements into meaningful business proposals for product and technology development.
  • Champion Technology Leadership – Stay at the forefront of energetics and defence trends, building academic and SME partnerships to capitalise on emerging opportunities.

 


YOUR EXPERIENCE


On day one in this role, we'll expect you to bring the following skills, experience and behaviours:


  • Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a relevant equivalent
  • Relevant engineering experience at corporate strategy and project levels in a relevant industry
  • Direct experience relating to energetic materials for the use in defence products and applications
  • Experience coordinating complex, technology-intensive cross-functional R&D projects using systems engineering and risk management practices
  • Experience relating to defence project and engineering governance processes

 


AUSTRALIAN DEFENCE ROLES & SECURITY


A Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an appropriate clearance.

In some cases, individuals who hold a current clearance from a foreign government may be eligible to have this clearance recognised by the Australian Government and be eligible for this role. The Australian Defence Trade Controls Act (DTCA) is applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
