Votre mission, si vous l'acceptez : 


Une offre de stage intitulée « Stage en Intelligence Artificielle et commandes de vol: développement d’un assistant chatbot pour naviguer dans les spécifications (h/f) » vient de s'ouvrir au sein de Airbus Opérations SAS sur son site de Toulouse Saint-Martin.

Vous rejoindrez le département « 1YCC » en charge des systèmes commandes de vol.


Votre stage consistera à contribuer au développement d'un chatbot assistant pour naviguer dans les spécifications techniques des commandes de vol .


Au sein des départements des systèmes de commandes de vol, les concepteurs travaillent avec des spécifications visuelles complexes. 

Afin d'optimiser le processus de conception et de renforcer l'expertise en ingénierie, le département explore des applications innovantes de l'Intelligence Artificielle. L'objectif de ce stage est de concevoir et de développer un chatbot spécialisé, basé sur les grands modèles de langage (LLM), qui intègre les spécifications du système commandes de vol. 

Cet outil servira d'assistant intelligent aux concepteurs, leur permettant de rechercher facilement des noms de variables, de cartographier les relations entre les composants  et d'obtenir une vue d'ensemble. En créant une passerelle entre l'ingénierie des commandes de vol et l'IA générative, ce projet vise à transformer et à automatiser la manière dont les ingénieurs interagissent avec la documentation technique. Le projet s’appliquera à un des programmes en service  en tant que projet pilote, avec l'ambition de l'étendre à d'autres programmes.

Ce stage fait le lien entre les initiatives existantes visant à développer des outils de conception plus performants et l'élaboration de nouvelles méthodes pour naviguer, comprendre et optimiser des spécifications techniques de plus en plus complexes et interconnectées. 


Ce stage, d'une durée de 6  mois, débutera idéalement en Avril (cette période est indicative et pourra être ajustée). 


Ce stage nécessite une habilitation de sécurité ou nécessite d'être éligible à une habilitation par les autorités reconnues. 


Vos principales missions consisteront à :


  • Développer un chatbot IA : Concevoir et mettre en œuvre un chatbot s'appuyant sur les grands modèles de langage (LLM) et le traitement automatique du langage naturel (NLP) adapté à la documentation technique aéronautique.
  • Intégration et ingénierie des données : Ingérer, structurer et intégrer des spécifications complexes de systèmes pilote automatique dans un pipeline.
  • Développement de l'interface utilisateur : Créer une interface intuitive et interactive permettant aux concepteurs d'interroger facilement le système et de visualiser les relations entre les variables ainsi que la logique globale du système.
  • Validation et tests : Tester, valider et affiner en continu la précision du chatbot et la pertinence des réponses grâce à une collaboration étroite et des boucles de rétroaction avec l'équipe de conception des commandes de vol.
  • Documentation et intégration : Rédiger une documentation technique complète de l'architecture logicielle et assurer une intégration fluide au sein du cadre numérique existant du département.

Votre tuteur vous accompagnera tout au long de votre stage, vous aidant à développer vos compétences et à atteindre vos objectifs professionnels. Ce stage se situera à la croisée de 3 disciplines (développement des systèmes de commandes de vol, lois de commande de vol et ingénierie de l'IA et des outils) et bénéficiera notamment d'un accompagnement spécifique dans l'architecture des outils basés sur l'IA.

 

Ce stage vous permettra notamment de développer les compétences suivantes :

Votre carte d’embarquement pour cette aventure : 


Vous êtes actuellement en Master 2 ou 5ème année d'école d'ingénieur en Aéronautique, informatique, science des données ou un domaine connexe et interdisciplinaire ou un domaine équivalent. 


Vous possédez idéalement les compétences suivantes : 

● Compétences techniques : 

  • Formation : Diplôme d'ingénieur en informatique, science des données, ingénierie mathématique, intelligence artificielle ou dans un domaine interdisciplinaire connexe.
  • Connaissances métier : Compréhension (ou vif intérêt pour) la dynamique du vol, les lois de commande de vol et l'architecture des systèmes de commandes de vol.
  • Expertise en IA et LLM : Solides connaissances en intelligence artificielle, en traitement du langage naturel (NLP) et dans l'utilisation des grands modèles de langage (ex. : ingénierie de prompts, architectures RAG, fine-tuning).
  • Programmation et frameworks : Maîtrise de Python et des écosystèmes IA/Data pertinents (ex. : LangChain, LlamaIndex, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Pandas).
  • Ingénierie des logiciels: Connaissance des bonnes pratiques de développement logiciel (Git, intégration d'API, analyse/parsing de données).

● Soft Skills : 

  • Esprit de collaboration : Capacité à travailler en équipe et à communiquer efficacement au sein d'équipes pluridisciplinaires (ingénieurs en aéronautique et spécialistes logiciels).
  • Innovation & Agilité : Agile, adaptable et désireux(se) de remettre en question le statu quo grâce à des solutions créatives et novatrices.
  • Culture de l'automatisation : Fort intérêt pour l'amélioration de la productivité en ingénierie, l'optimisation des flux de travail et l'automatisation des tâches.

Your mission : 

An internship opportunity titled : «AI & Flight Controls Intern – Development of a Chatbot for Flight Controls System Specifications (m/f) » has just opened at Airbus Opérations SAS located in Toulouse Saint-Martin. You will join the "1YCC" department in charge of flight control. 

Your internship will consist of contributing to develop an assistant chatbot to navigate within flight controls technical specifications.

In the Flight Controls System departments, designers work with highly complex, dense, and interconnected system specifications. 

To streamline the design process and boost engineering knowledge, the department is exploring innovative applications of Artificial Intelligence. The aim of this internship is to design and develop a specialized chatbot powered by Large Language Models (LLMs) that integrates the flight controls system specifications. 

This tool will act as an intelligent assistant for designers, allowing them to easily query variable names, map out relationships between components, and gain a high-level view. By bridging the gap between flight control engineering and cutting-edge Generative AI, this project aims to transform and automate how engineers interact with technical documentation. The project will start in one department as a pilot with the idea to expand it to other programs 

This internship bridges existing efforts to develop more capable design tools with new methods for navigating, comprehending, and optimizing increasingly complex, interconnected technical specifications 


Ideally, this is a 6 months internship and it should start in April (date subject to flexibility). 

This position requires a security clearance or requires to be eligible for clearance by recognized authorities.


Your main missions will consist of : 


Develop a chatbot: Design and implement a chatbot leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) tailored to aerospace technical documentation.

  • Data Integration & Engineering: Ingest, structure, and embed complex flight controls system specifications (visual software specification) into a pipeline.
  • Relationship Mapping: Develop algorithms to extract and map variable names, their definitions, and their functional interdependencies within the flight control logic.
  • User Interface Development: Create an intuitive, interactive interface that allows designers to easily query the system and visualize variable relationships and high-level system logic.
  • Validation & Testing: Continuously test, validate, and refine the chatbot's accuracy and response relevance through close collaboration and feedback loops with the Flight Control design team.
  • Documentation & Integration: Build comprehensive technical documentation for the software architecture and ensure clean integration within the department's existing digital framework.

Your tutor will support you, identify your professional objectives and develop your skills. This internship will be at the intersection of 3 disciplines (Flight controls system development, Flight control laws and AI/tool engineering) and will notably benefit from specific support in the architecture of AI-based tools.

Your Boarding Pass: 

You are preparing a diploma level Bac+5 in Aerospace, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related intersectional field. 

This position represents a unique intersection between Flight Controls and Artificial Intelligence / LLMs. The ideal candidate is an engineering student with a dual passion for aerospace systems and modern software/AI technologies as well as big data management. Any engineering specialization with a solid foundation in AI, computer science, LLM application development or big data is strongly encouraged to apply. Knowledge or interest in flight dynamics, control systems and aeronautical systems is valued.


You possess the following competences: 

- Technical skills : 

  • Education: Engineering degree in  Computer science, Data Science, Mathematical Engineering, Artificial Intelligence engineering or a related intersectional field.
  • Domain Knowledge: Understanding (or strong interest) of flight dynamics, flight control laws, and AutoFlight systems architecture.
  • AI & LLM Expertise: Strong knowledge of Artificial Intelligence, NLP, and working with Large Language Models (e.g., prompt engineering, RAG architectures, fine-tuning).
  • Programming & Frameworks: Fluent in Python and relevant AI/data ecosystems (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Pandas).
  • Software Engineering: Familiarity with software development best practices (Git, API integration, data parsing).

- Soft Skills : 

  • Collaborative Spirit: Team player with an ability to communicate effectively across multidisciplinary teams (aerospace engineers and software specialists).
