Global Delivery Services refers to EY's worldwide network of service delivery centers. The GDS team plays an important role in EY’s strategy by ensuring effective support to EY’s growth agenda.

The Opportunity

Role Summary

We are seeking a talented and motivated Java Full Stack Developer to join our Banking & Financial Services technology team. The candidate will design, develop, test, and support enterprise-grade banking applications and digital platforms. The ideal candidate will bring strong Java development skills, modern web technology experience, familiarity with API-driven and cloud-native architectures, and exposure to banking processes such as payments, lending, customer onboarding, account services, or digital banking.

Java Full Stack Developer – Banking & Financial Services

Experience - 2 to 5 years

Domain   -  Banking, Financial Services, FinTech, Payments and Digital Banking

Your Key Responsibilities

Solution development

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications using Java and modern front-end frameworks.
• Build scalable microservices and REST APIs using Spring Boot.
• Develop responsive user interfaces using Angular or React.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Banking application development

• Develop and enhance digital banking platforms, payment systems, lending solutions, customer portals, and workflow applications.
• Integrate with core banking systems and third-party banking services.
• Support regulatory and compliance-driven application enhancements.

Software engineering excellence

• Follow coding standards, secure development practices, and architectural guidelines.
• Perform code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
• Develop unit and integration tests.
• Participate in troubleshooting and production support.

Agile delivery

• Participate in sprint planning, estimation, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, UX teams, and QA teams.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills and attributes for success

• Backend technologies
  • Java 8, 11 or 17
  • Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA and Hibernate
  • RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
• Frontend technologies
  • Angular 12+ or React
  • TypeScript, JavaScript ES6+, HTML5 and CSS3
  • Bootstrap or Angular Material
• Data, integration and messaging
  • Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server or MySQL, with advanced SQL skills
  • REST APIs, SOAP web services, OpenAPI/Swagger and API gateway concepts
  • Kafka, RabbitMQ or JMS
• DevOps and cloud
  • Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Maven or Gradle, and SonarQube
  • Microsoft Azure preferred; AWS is good to have
  • Docker; Kubernetes is nice to have
• Security and compliance
  • Spring Security, OAuth 2.0 and JWT authentication
  • OWASP principles, role-based access control and API security
  • Secure coding practices and audit logging

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Exposure to core, corporate, retail or digital banking; lending; payments; trade finance; deposits; onboarding; treasury; or cards.
• Experience with high-volume transaction processing, event-driven applications, real-time payments, core banking transformation, cloud migration, API modernization, or banking product implementations.
• Familiarity with Generative AI integrations, Azure OpenAI, agentic applications, Databricks, Redis Cache, Elasticsearch, Grafana or Kibana.
• B.E., B.Tech., MCA or M.Tech. in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline.
