Job Description

Amazon is looking for a Software Development Engineer to build innovative, mission-critical software applications and tools. You will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the design, architecture, and development of products used at scale. You will be responsible for the delivery and support of large-scale, multi-tiered, distributed software applications.

• Design and develop solutions for complex, ambiguous problems across the full software development lifecycle
• Drive best practices and engineering excellence within the team
• Collaborate with team members to architect and design new and existing systems
• Work in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software on schedule
• Build scalable platform services and customer-facing experiences that support business programs at scale
• Contribute to the development of AI-powered and automation-driven experiences for end users


A day in the life
Your day involves a mix of deep technical work and collaboration. You review design documents for upcoming features and provide feedback that shapes the technical direction. You write and test code, choosing optimal data structures and algorithms to solve complex performance challenges. You participate in code review sessions, sharing constructive feedback with teammates and discussing trade-offs. You investigate operational alerts, identify root causes, and implement durable fixes. Throughout it all, you balance priorities across feature work, operational improvements, and mentoring newer engineers on your team.

About the team
Our team builds the tools and experiences that help third-party business partners discover, understand, and participate in Amazon's marketplace programs. We own the full journey - from program discovery and eligibility assessment through enrollment and performance measurement. Our work spans web-based user interfaces, APIs, and emerging AI-powered experiences. We focus on building scalable, reliable platform services that make it easy for partners to grow their business on Amazon.

Basic Qualifications:

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
