The Opportunity

Join Hitachi Energy as an R&D Team Manager – Valve Electronics and lead a team of talented engineers developing innovative electronics and power electronics solutions for the GI MACH Valve Electronics Design Organization. In this role, you will drive the development of next-generation control systems and electronic components that support critical energy infrastructure worldwide.

Working at the intersection of technology leadership and engineering innovation, you will guide the full product development lifecycle, from concept and research through validation and deployment. How You Will Make an Impact

• Lead, develop, and mentor a team of R&D engineers, fostering a collaborative, innovative, and high-performance culture
• Oversee the complete product development lifecycle for valve electronics systems, from concept and feasibility studies to validation and production support
• Define project scope, priorities, timelines, and resource allocation, ensuring successful delivery aligned with business objectives
• Drive research and evaluation of emerging technologies, materials, and methodologies to strengthen innovation and competitiveness
• Guide the design and development of embedded systems, control algorithms, sensor integration, and communication solutions
• Collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure successful product integration and delivery
• Oversee verification and validation activities, including hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulations and physical testing
• Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, safety requirements, and quality processes while effectively communicating progress to key stakeholders

Your Background

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field; PhD is a plus
• Minimum 7 years of experience in electronics R&D, including at least 3 years in a leadership or senior technical role
• Proven expertise in embedded systems, microcontrollers, FPGAs, and analog/digital circuit design
• Strong understanding of control systems, algorithm development, and product verification methodologies
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams, manage complex projects, and drive innovation
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with fluency in English
