Job Description:

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Commissioning Engineer specializing in main circuit equipment for High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) systems. This role involves ensuring the successful commissioning, testing, and handover of complex HVDC projects, focusing on the main power circuit components.

How you’ll make an impact:

* Develop and implement detailed commissioning plans, procedures, and checklists for main circuit equipment in HVDC converter stations (e.g., converters, transformers, AC filters, DC filters, switchgear, busbars).
* Lead and execute pre-commissioning, functional testing, and integrated system testing of main circuit components, adhering to project specifications, safety regulations, and industry standards.
* Perform troubleshooting and fault diagnosis on HVDC main circuit equipment, identifying root causes of issues and implementing effective solutions during commissioning phases.
* Collaborate closely with design engineers, manufacturing teams, site installation teams, and client representatives to ensure seamless project execution and resolve technical challenges.
* Prepare and review technical reports, test records, commissioning certificates, and as-built documentation.
* Provide technical guidance and training to site personnel and junior engineers on HVDC main circuit equipment operation and maintenance.
* Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, environmental policies, and quality standards throughout the commissioning process.
* Participate in factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site acceptance testing (SAT) as required.
* Manage and coordinate commissioning resources, including tools, equipment, and personnel.
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for commissioning processes and procedures.

Your Background:

* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related field.
* Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in commissioning, testing, or field service of HVDC systems, with a strong focus on main circuit equipment.
* In-depth knowledge of HVDC technology, power electronics, and high voltage AC/DC systems.
* Proven experience with testing equipment and diagnostic tools used in HVDC commissioning.
* Familiarity with relevant international standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE) for HVDC systems and main circuit components.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical systems.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
* Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and technical specifications.
* Willingness to travel extensively to project sites globally for extended periods.
* Proficiency in English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
