Transport Specialist (m/f/d) - Hamburg Area | Airbus Job

Job Description:

We are looking for a Transport Specialist (d/f/m) to join our team Transport and Customs Operations Europe in Hamburg Fuhlsbüttel to the earliest possible start date.

We are a diverse global logistics team dedicated to ensuring transport performance, external provider governance, and high-quality service for our customers worldwide. 

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM

• Service Provider Support: You actively monitor the daily operational performance of our global Transport Service Providers (3PLs/Integrators). You are responsible for data collection and support the preparation of regular performance reviews (e.g. quarterly and monthly reviews).
• Operational Execution: You independently monitor high-level shipment execution. You ensure daily compliance with internal standards and external regulations across our global network and handle operational escalations effectively.
• Customer & Stakeholder Support: You act as a reliable point of contact for internal Sales, Customer Order Desk, and Procurement teams. You independently resolve transport-related inquiries and translate customer needs into actionable, fast logistics solutions.
• Specialized Logistics Handling: You coordinate and execute complex logistics challenges independently, such as AOG (Aircraft on Ground) or Oversize shipments, ensuring critical supply chain disruptions are navigated smoothly.
• Project Contribution: You actively participate in cross-functional projects, providing solid operational data and executing defined work packages to support the rollout of new processes or tools within the transport department.

ABOUT YOU

• Experience & Education: Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline, OR completed vocational training (e.g. Kaufmann/-frau für Spedition und Logistikdienstleistung) with relevant professional experience.
• Industry Experience: A solid professional background in transportation, freight forwarding, or international supply chains.

• Operational Knowledge: Profound understanding of various transport modes (air, ocean, road, courier), including dangerous goods handling and basic customs procedures.
• Mindset: Proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to work autonomously and take ownership of tasks.
• Collaboration: Strong collaborative skills to thrive in an international environment across different time zones and cultures.
• Personality: Structured working style with the ability to maintain focus when handling high-priority customer requests.
• Communication: Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken) to engage effectively with global stakeholders and external service providers.
