In order to support our Ground Systems & Human Space Flight team, Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a

Software Architect (d/f/m)

We support ground systems for human spaceflight missions (ISS - Columbus, ESA ESM project) and design the ground infrastructure for future LEO space stations such as Starlab.

Our Responsibilities are: design and specification of new ground systems; System, data and change analyses; delivery of ground software; Support for functional verification and error investigation and tool support.

Your tasks and responsibilities

• Collaboration within the team.
• Planning and evaluation of software- and data architectures, as well as data flows in the ground segment.
• Requirements engineering.
• Definition of system integration logic and execution of V&V activities (Verification & Validation).
• Selection of required software components and tools.
• Interface definitions and customer interfacing.

Desired skills and qualifications

• Completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering
• Experience in software projects.
• Solid experience in software architecture, system architecture, requirements engineering, and interface specification.
• Experience with functional verification and V&V processes.
• Proficiency in German and English (written and spoken).
• Ability to work in a team and strong communication skills.

Desired Knowledge

• Linux
• UML, MBSE (CAMEO)
• Communication protocols commonly used within Space Projects (CCSDS, 1553, Spacewire, FEECP, etc.)
• Experience with Ground System Software and/or related technologies (CCS, CGS, SCOS2000, etc.)
• Programming skills in C, Java, Python and Shell.
