Java Developer - Pune Maharashtra India | CIti Job

We are looking for hands-on Java Backend senior Developer who is passionate about solving business problems through innovation and engineering practices. The Senior Developer plays a meaningful role in crafting and maintaining the strategic partnership between business needs and technology delivery within the construct of an Agile team. In addition to assigned technical complex tasks, there is also an expectation to contribute to the codebase and deliver solutions against the sprint-level commitments.

Responsibilities

• Code contributing leader of an Agile team, working to deliver sprint goals.
• Design, document, and develop world-class enterprise applications leveraging the latest technologies and design patterns.
• Provide strategic influence and exercise control over team resources, budget management and planning, while monitoring end results.
• Utilize in-depth knowledge of concepts and procedures within your own area and basic knowledge of other areas to resolve issues.
• Integrate in-depth knowledge of applications development with overall technology function to achieve established goals.
• Provide evaluative judgement based on analysis of facts in complicated, unique, and dynamic situations including drawing from internal and external sources.
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience as a Software Engineer/Developer using Java, Springboot, Kafka, Mogo, SQL etc.
• Multiple years of experience with software engineering best practices (unit testing, automation, design patterns, peer review, etc.) 
• Clear understanding of Data Structures and Object Oriented Principles using Java 
• Multiple years of experience developing and building horizontally scalable, highly available, highly resilient, and low latency applications
• Experience with Cloud-native development and Container Orchestration tools (Serverless, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, etc.) is good to have.
• Proficient experience with frameworks like Spring Boot, Kafka messaging, Hibernate etc. 
• Exposure to Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, either on-premise or public cloud (i.e., Tekton, Harness, CircleCI, Cloudbees Jenkins, etc.) 
• Multiple years of experience with agile and iterative software delivery 

Preferences

• Hands on experience on Java 8.x +, Springboot, Kafka, JPA, SQL/Oracle
• Exposure to Cloud infrastructure both on-premise and public cloud (i.e., OpenShift, AWS, etc.) 
• Exposure to event-driven design and architecture (i.e., Kafka, etc.) 
• Exposure to API Management tools 
• Exposure to Security, Observability, and Monitoring tools (i.e., Grafana Prometheus, Splunk, ELK, CloudWatch, etc.)
• Exposure to database concepts (RDBMS, NoSQL) and web-based technologies (Angular/React) is a plus
