Senior Sourcing Manager, Category Management

Permanent Contract

This role will have responsibility to develop GQO Indirect category strategies, best practices processes, policies, procedures and project development to deliver sustainable margin results across a global network/sites. Identifies opportunities for value improvement and drives global leverage and efficiencies across network/site operations. Creates fact bases, strategic initiatives, business cases and recommendations.

Will convert local strategies and initiatives into global strategies and constantly leads thinking on improving total GQ&O efficiencies. Will execute deliverables in line with GQO strategies working closely with local, franchise, regional and global stakeholders.

What you will do:

• Lead and execute category strategy across packaging, aligned with business and product roadmap priorities
• Drive end-to-end sourcing strategy, including supplier segmentation, cost optimization, and long-term supply continuity planning
• Negotiate and structure complex commercial agreements, including long-term contracts, volume commitments, and pricing frameworks with key strategic suppliers
• Leverage market intelligence and industry trends to inform sourcing decisions, including advancements in plastics technology, materials innovation, and supplier capabilities
• Partner cross-functionally with engineering, quality, and operations to align sourcing strategies with product development and manufacturing requirements
• Identify and execute value creation opportunities, including cost savings, risk mitigation, and supplier consolidation initiatives
• Ensure all sourcing activities, contracts, and supplier engagements align with company policies, governance standards, and compliance requirements
• Any other duties as assigned.

What you will need:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain, operations or equivalent. 
• 8-10 years of relevant experience, in medical devices or other highly regulated environments. 
• Category Management Level experience. Experience in Negotiation and Supplier Management
• Strategic thinker, understands the details but can operate at a higher level. 

• Strong leadership & interpersonal skills with the ability to engage & influence senior stakeholders. 
• Experience with world-class strategic sourcing & category management practices 

• Strong negotiation skills, negotiating and implementing commercial contracts to include supply and quality agreements (QAA). 

• Strong written & verbal communication skills across all levels 

• Ability to multi-task and coordinate initiatives with a virtual, global/regional team. 

• Persuasive ‘change agent’ capable of challenging conventional wisdom. 

• Track record of success in capturing value and driving spend to preferred suppliers. 

• Demonstrated ability to manage and improve vendor performance. 

• Hands-on mentality. 

• Ability to align with peers / stakeholders and build and maintain strong networks.

Ireland Pay Ranges:

• Ireland: €88,000 - €146,000 EUR Annual
