Fielding these weapons is vital to our national security

We have an exciting opportunity for a Manager, Contracts in the AAWS portfolio within the Advanced Technology organization. This role will be part of a team of Contracts professionals supporting the AAWS portfolio of programs. We are seeking a leader with business acumen and initiative who will play a strategic role as the Contracts lead for several key AAWS competitive pursuits, in addition to managing a variety of classified U.S. Government contracts. AAWS is a challenging, fast-paced environment, and this role must serve as a trusted business adviser to Program Leadership.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Lead the analysis of Requests for Proposal (RFP), development of proposals, proposal reviews and coordination, negotiation, contractual agreements, contracts execution, as well as general contract administration

  • Perform as key contributor during the pre-proposal strategy, proposal development, negotiation, and start up phases of programs

  • Collaborate within cross-functional teams to construct, submit, and negotiate Terms and Conditions and pricing proposals, examine and understand cost structure estimates of labor, material, engineering services, production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness

  • Effectively manage multiple contracts, contractual scope, and terms and conditions to ensure work is performed to the overall contracts

  • Provide sound contract management to meet customer obligations, achieve company objectives, and comply with company policies

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers and internal partners

  • Identify, mitigate, and drive the resolution of contractual issues as they may arise

  • Provide guidance regarding contractual and business issues, advising management of contractual rights and obligations as well as possible mitigation of contractual/program risks

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a University degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience

  • Active and transferable U.S. Government issued security clearance (Secret) required prior to start date

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

  • Experience with US Government contracts and / or U.S. Government acquisition and related regulations, e.g. FAR, DFARS, and ITAR

  • Ability and willingness to travel on occasion (10% domestic travel)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in classified environments

  • Experience managing development contracts

  • Professional, effective written and verbal communication skills to interface with all levels of internal and external customers; strong analytical skills; strong interpersonal skills; be adaptable to a variety of business situations

  • Experience working is a fast-paced environment and ability to multi-task across multiple programs

  • Proven record of responsiveness with strong time management and organization skills

  • Experience in contract & financial structures such as pricing strategies, policy & procedure and / or compliance principles

  • Must be able to recognize business and contractual issues in program performance implement solutions; carry to completion, while exercising good judgment with minimal supervision

  • Juris Doctor or MBA

  • Proficient in computer skills including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
