Job Summary:
Pratt & Whitney, a division of RTX, is seeking a Quality Engineer in support of the Quality Logistics Team at the Northeast Logistics Center. This position is an entry level Quality Engineering professional. Works as an individual contributor to set and achieve objectives for own area of responsibility. Influences process and planning decisions with knowledge and explanations of Quality Engineering policies, practices, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reviews process control documentation to ensure it follows requirements, objectives, and/or contracts.
  • Provides explanations of testing and inspection plans, methods, and technologies to assure reliability and conformance of products and processes.
  • Provides analysis and recommendations for corrective actions for nonconformities and/or problems for internal processes. Develops, modifies, applies, and maintains quality evaluation, control systems and protocols for materials being processed throughout the processes.
  • Collaborates internally to ensure quality standards are in effect. Ensures that projects and process control documentation are compliant with requirements, objectives and/or contracts.
  • Develops proactive quality initiative strategies and drives their implementation. Performs escape management procedures, root cause analysis, and recommends corrective action for problems for internal processes.
  • Responsible for development of new inspection technologies or methodologies to assure product conformance. Develop, promote, and lead continuous improvement activities. Contribute and participate in Corrective Action Board’s. Assist in Quality Clinic activities (non-conformances, CA’s, containment, and SDO/IRO’s reviews.
  • Must have the ability to become an Organizational Designee Authority (ODA) through the FAA. Assists in the oversight of the 3PL operations to ensure compliance to the QMS. Conduct Internal Audits as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • This position requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior Quality Engineering experience is desired.
  • Demonstrate experience of completing problem solving activities using methods such as RRCA, Six Sigma, SAP knowledge, and have a Microsoft Office skill set.
