Airbus India is looking for a senior Full-Stack Developer to join our team in Bengaluru. You will join the Airline Sciences team within the Digital department.

Join our Product team that will design and build specialized products, utilizing the core capabilities of our simulation/data models. This role is like that of a Solutions Engineer to solve real-world aerospace challenges through rapid digital innovation. Acting as the Product Manager’s technical co-pilot, you will be involved in scoping business needs, build interactive prototypes, and deliver scalable web solutions integrated with the core simulation models and data pipelines.

This role offers end to end development accountability, combining airline operations problem-solving with hands-on full-stack development.

As a software developer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing frontend/backend components using ReactJS, NodeJS, Java, Spring Boot concepts on Microservices. Also, there may be a need to create an application prototype using Python, as part of a Proof-Of-concept.

You will also be responsible for the database, AWS Cloud and DevOps tasks specific to the product delivery aligned to you.

This position will report to a Senior Group Manager/Product Manager within Airbus India. Passion for technology and problem solving are a must have.

Domain: Commercial flight operations, flight navigation, flight data monitoring (FDM/FOQA), ACARS/ADS-B telemetry feeds, airport operations (AODB), fuel optimization, and disruption management.

Tech Stack: Modern frontend frameworks (React), backend services in Python (FastAPI, Django) and/or Node.js/TypeScript, RESTful and GraphQL APIs, Docker, and Cloud platforms (AWS).

Architecture: Microservices, event-driven data ingestion, caching strategies (Redis), and responsive data dashboards.

Please note: This is a modern web application and cloud data engineering role. It is not an embedded systems, avionics firmware, or DO-178C certification position.

Tasks & accountabilities

 

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

The work itself

• Write clean, maintainable, and production-ready code alongside the Lead Developer and Full-Stack Developers.
• Implement backend business logic that encodes complex aeronautical and aircraft operational calculations into software services.
• Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, deployment pipeline configuration (CI/CD), and tier-2 operational troubleshooting for live applications.
• Collaborates with other developers and provides significant contributions to develop specifications, to resolve business client questions, problems solving, bug fixing, testing, and investigating platform issues.
• Participates in all phases of product development lifecycle, from the analysis, design over test and integration to operation of products.
• Researches, evaluates, and develops new tools to improve product development efficiency.
• Deploys, tests and/or integrates highly available, scalable, maintainable, monitored systems and services.
• May assist in development of product user manuals.
• Coordinates the functional and technical integration.
• Defines the test strategy, scripts, scenarios and monitors test execution.
• Determines how existing applications, legacy systems, databases, web interfaces and/or hardware logic, which may be currently operating on multiple platforms, work together to meet the new and emerging enterprise requirements.

With proven capabilities, you may also be involved in:

• Support the Lead Developer in being a technical bridge between specialized applications and centralized core capabilities.
• Architect secure, scalable microservices and API gateways to ingest, process, and display aerospace data.
• Ensure all bespoke solutions comply with global cloud architecture, cyber security, and data governance standards.
• Potential partnership with the Product Manager/Lead during client discovery workshops to assess business needs
• Evaluate customer IT ecosystems, data feeds, and API capabilities to define technical feasibility and architecture blueprints
• Rapidly build interactive prototypes, data flows, and build APIs to demonstrate feasibility and secure stakeholder buy-in

This role may involve some travel for business in Europe and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.

 

Required skills

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

The skills you bring

• Bachelor or Master degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering or other related discipline preferred
• 5-7 years of experience in Software Development and especially working hands-on in a fast-paced discovery to design to prototype and industrialize specialized applications, predominantly in the Aerospace/Airline Operations scope
• Knowledge / hands-on experience in handling aviation data and digital application needs (real-life aviation/airline operations products, possibly simulation platforms) is mandatory
• Hands-on experience with frontend development of UI components for ADT applications using ReactJS / Redux technologies
• Experience in Python coding
• Java development (including experience with JDK 8+ preferred) and a strong experience using Spring Framework
• Experience developing multithreaded application in Java to build high performing applications
• Expertize in memory management while doing application design and development and experience of building scalable applications
• Experience in following an agile methodology (SCRUM, KABAN)
• Knowledge of all phases of software development including design, coding, testing, debugging, implementation, and support
• Knowledge and strong experience with GIT
• Ability to thoroughly understand the business issues surrounding each project
• Knowledge and experience in at least one of the following technologies: MySQL, Maven, Spring Framework, Jenkins, JIRA
• Direct interaction with business teams for requirement analysis, issue troubleshooting and resolution, first line support to the users for their business needs.
• Familiarity with version control systems and CI/CD pipelines.
• Good knowledge on designing and implementing APIs, RESTful web-services and SOAP-based Web-services
• Knowledge of AWS Cloud and Microservices architecture
• English: advanced level both verbal and written

Along with the above mandatory skillsets, highly preferable candidates will showcase:

• Experience with client discovery workshops to understand airline operational bottlenecks and solution scoping

AND/OR

• Experience with digital product development within the aerospace / aviation domain

AND/OR

• Hands-on experience with aerospace/aviation data and its usage

AND

• Demonstrated experience integrating AI coding assistants and modern productivity tools into the end-to-end software development lifecycle (ideation, development, automated test generation, and code review).
