We are currently seeking a motivated systems or software engineer for our Integration and Range Deployment Team inside the Mission Systems Air Combat Test and Training (ACTT) Department.  Located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, our team is comprised of cross-functional engineers working in an agile environment and focused on the integration of state-of-the-art aircraft test and training products. Our team primarily supports the Tactical Combat Training System - our signature product enabling Military aviators to “train like they fight” with unmatched operational realism in a secure environment. You will learn a lot and never be bored - as a team member you will gain experience in multiple areas including networking messages, GPS, cryptography, and radios.  If you love being hands-on and working on challenging problems with a tight-knit team, this position might be for you. 

As a systems-level team, this team has opportunities for direct customer and end user interaction as well as coordination across subsystem teams and stakeholders. This position is onsite at our Cedar Rapids, IA location. 

This position may be eligible for relocation.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deployment and test of software builds into the real system.
• Troubleshooting networking and system configuration (TCP/IP, XML).
• Getting hands-on and making things work using Linux and Python. 
• After training there may be customer support opportunities at various military sites. 

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).
•  U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the information under this program/contract.
• Willing to work onsite in a lab environment.
• Willing to travel up to 20% of the time.
• Familiarity with at least one programming language.  
• Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.  Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements.  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Python and networking (UDP and IPv4). 
• Experience with Linux / RHEL. 
• Desire to successfully work in a team environment, establishing collaborative relationships with coworkers in person and through technology.
