The Mission Systems Assured PNT department is looking for a Senior Principal Systems Security Engineer that requires strong systems engineering skills that will be used to develop innovative products and solutions to complex systems, including top level requirements development, requirements analysis and allocation, design, verification, integration, and production/field support. This team is currently in a very exciting position, transitioning from low level production to high level production.

The candidate will be expected to have fluency in the latest security technologies and trends and apply them to enhance the security posture of our products while providing Cyber Security leadership to programs utilizing our products. This position comes with the great opportunity to contribute technically and lead all phases of the Secure System Development Life Cycle including new business pursuit, requirements development, secure architecture and design, security testing, certification support and post-entry into service support.  

You will be part of a team composed of professionals from various systems engineering backgrounds and you will have an opportunity to work closely with our customers, and integrated product team leaders. This position may require travel (up to 10%.). Eligible for relocation.

What YOU Will Do: 

  • YOU will be responsible for fostering organizational adoption of Secure System Development Lifecycle (SSDLC), demonstrate leadership and accountability for assigned cyber security scope and project performance. Set and influence secure product and system designs and architectures. 

  • YOU will Design, develop, and implement solutions to meet Department of Defense (DoD) Risk Management Framework (RMF) security requirements for APNT products.  

  • YOU will develop security artifacts to support the Cybersecurity program requirements to include System Security Plans (SSP), Security Assessment Reports (SAR), Risk Assessment Plans & Reports (RAP&R), Security Control Traceability Matrix (SCTM), Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M), System Design and Installation Procedures, System User Guides, Privileged User Guides, Security Test Plans & Procedures, and other documents as needed. 

  • YOU will manage customer security requirements and support programs through assessment and authorization, enable our customers to achieve and/or maintain accreditation and certification. 

  • YOU will be responsible for evaluating, leading, and contributing to technical proposals. 

  • YOU will utilize tools such as JIRA, JAMA, ALM, DOORS, Office365 Products, Subversion, and PREP

Education & Experience:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience.

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Skills You Must Have:

  • Must have prior experience employing and reporting Software Assurance SwA measures on software functions or experience with software vulnerability analysis.

  • Knowledge and/or experience with RMF framework and guidelines.

  • Knowledge and/or experience with STIGs, SCAP, Splunk or other system hardening and compliance, vulnerability assessment, and/or SIEM tools (SCAP, OSCAP, ACAS, SCC).

Skills We Value:  

  • Active U.S. DoD security clearance

  • Experience collaborating with portfolio leadership and technical fellows to influence inclusion of new security technologies.  

  • Previous professional experience with secure software delivery and secure boot solutions.  

  • Experience developing SSPs and supporting RMF Bodies of Evidence. 

  • Any industry recognized security certifications (Sec+, OSCP, CISSP) are desirable. 

  • Previous mentorship and training of junior security engineers. 

  • Project management experience, preferably using an Agile framework.
