Collins Aerospace’s Global Engineering & Technology Center in Puerto Rico (GETC-PR) has an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer to join our team.  We are looking for a strong, passionate problem-solver with an action-oriented, collaborative mindset who strives to exceed expectations.  This person will be participating in the processing and program coordination of engineering changes and releases into the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) System

This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. Candidate must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Analyze requests, audit changes and monitor outstanding engineering work items.
  • Process change-requests in the PLM system, this includes analyze product documentation for consistency of information, assess interchangeability, routing for approval, auditing…
  • Coordinate change requests with product engineering (Design/Drafting) and other functional groups
  • Monitor change releases to ensure timely incorporation into production
  • Maintain drawing change log and provide programmatic justification for priority escalation
  • Participate in meetings requiring configuration management input, create and update documents, and verify accuracy of product structures in PLM
  • Provide PLM support to product teams on process / tool
  • Generate x-class, proper marking, and submittal of technical engineering correspondences and/or program specific data items
  • Support program plan reviews, periodic status review meetings, and applicable metrics
  • Support internal and external audits and resulting corrective actions
  • Create / Maintain Engineering SharePoint site including sub-discipline pages
  • Coordinate with various Engineering functions for content / edits

Qualifications/Experience Needed:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and 2 years prior relevant experience or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiar with Microsoft Office, including Work and Excel; and Microsoft Project, or other scheduling software.
  • General knowledge of engineering principles.
  • Ability to read and understand technical processes.
  • Ability to use specialized software for collaboration and time management, including spreadsheets.
  • Experience with inventory control and process improvement.
  • Tools Used/Basic Knowledge:
    • SAP, NX, TEAMCENTER, PLM, Configuration Management / Data Management, SharePoint
