Job Summary:

The Technical Manager position conducts technical management planning on depot maintenance events occurring within the F135 propulsion system depot repair network. This position is on a high-visibility F135 Sustainment team that executes forecasting, technical workscope optimization, maintenance program management, and fleet behavior analytics. This role supports these four key team deliverables.

The successful Technical Manager goes where there is no path and forges a path for others to follow, in the form of program technical management.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Mining of data from Maintenix (via SAP Business objects, Maintenix front end or Maintenix back end), OBPHM downloads, FDAP, Databricks, Hawkeye, and other sources
  • Leveraging weibulls and other statistical models to develop discrete analysis as needed to find leading indicators which will affect our depot repair network
  • Identify cost savings & avoidance opportunities via your analysis
  • Auditing and management of depot repair event data in appropriate tools throughout the event data life cycle as well as development and execution of a standard Technical Management analysis methodology for event data, down to the part level
  • Development of technical workscope maintenance optimization tool to support minimum build goal reliability-centered maintenance program management and ensure continuous improvement in shop visit cost and time on wing
  • Identify and manage emerging issues, as well as the assessment and mitigation of technical risks to minimize interval and cost impact as well as Periodic presentations to all levels of leadership to present your findings and writing documentation on your findings and analysis methodology

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree is required
  • A minimum of 8+ years of Statistics and Python experience is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree, preferably in a mathematics-focused specialization
  • Experience with Minitab, JMP and scripting in languages such as R
  • F135 or other Military Engines logistics experience
  • Familiar with engine overhaul & repair processes, engine hardware, assembly, operation, and testing
