Job Summary:

In Systems Integration and Test (SI&T) we integrate, verify, and validate our products. We put our systems together, exercise them in the lab or in the field, measure and analyze performance, and make sure our products work the first time and every time. To accomplish this we develop plans, track requirements baseline for various test events, develop procedures, evaluate system functions and interfaces, and work hand-in-hand with colleagues from various disciplines and with our customers.
 

We are seeking a Principal Systems Integration & Test Engineer to support programs in Aurora, Colorado, for programs in our Raytheon Systems strategic business unit. 
 

The Principal Systems Inteegration &Test Engineer participates in a program which includes establishing methods and techniques, tracking requirements baseline and working closely with fellow test engineers and program leadership to manage requirements volatility. Utilizes a broad knowledge of engineering knowledge and applies understanding of principles of related engineering and software technology to ensure test validity and integrity. Conducts tests, which include collaborating with others in establishing language, database, and computer simulation requirements and configuration management techniques. 
 

Maintains the requirements baseline for the SAT test event.  Supports requirement change requests coming out of either customer CRM comments or test procedure dry runs.  Works closely with test engineers and program leadership to review and prepare requirement change requests.  Schedules meetings to discuss contentious changes with the customer prior to official peer review.  Creates Change Proposals (CPs) in DOORS for the changes and performs formal peer reviews.  Acts as the primary requirements POC for the approach to verify the external interface requirement during site integration.


Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Maintains the requirements and interface baseline for test events
  • Manage requirement change requests resulting from test procedure development and dry runs
  • Collaborate with test engineers and program leadership to review and prepare requirement change requests.
  • Conduct meetings to discuss changes with customer stakeholders prior to official peer review. 
  • Creates Change Proposals (CPs) in DOORS and performs peer reviews
  • Prepares artifacts and charts in support of TRR readiness, including the VCRM and Technical Baseline. 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations
  • Integration/Test experience on a government software development contract, including:
    • Experience maintaining requirements and interface baseline
    • Experience utilizing DOORS requirement management tool
    • Experience utilizing discrepancy report systems
    • Experience with systems engineering principles and activities
       
  • Experience in leading a small sized team of engineers (5-8 people)
  • Experience interacting with engineers from various disciplines (such as software, infrastructure, hardware, security)
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.  U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a Satellite Ground System development or operations environment
  • Experience with ground station satellite domains (command and telemetry, flight dynamics or mission planning)
  • Test Automation (Eggplant, Cucumber, Gherkin)
  • Experience with Raytheon EclipseTM or Raytheon EquinoxTM products

The salary range for this role is 94,000 USD - 196,000 USD; however, RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
