Summary

The Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) business within the West Palm Beach (WPB) campus is looking for an Senior Operations Manager (M4) to lead and oversee the Gate ONE engine overhaul operations. The GTF MRO business in WPB has rapidly expanded since 2019 and is looking for an experienced and driven leader who will help drive the business forward.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will lead a team of Supervisors and bargaining unit workers that is responsible for the induction, teardown, rebuild, and final certification of all GTF engines overhauled in WPB.

  • You will be directly involved in meeting all: EH&S, Customer, Quality, and Financial goals within the WPB GTF MRO facility.

  • You'll lead by devising and executing: operational strategies, production resource scheduling, and continuous improvement, while providing clear and crisp communication with EC leadership, peers, and subordinates.

  • Proficiencies that are critical for success in this role are Customer Focus, Flexibility, Critical Thinking, and Communication.

  • Embrace the CORE Operating System and thrive in a highly visible, dynamic setting.

  • Provide direction to the operations team setting both near and long-term operational objectives.

  • Collaborate with support teams to establish work schedules considering customer requirements, resource availability, and other top priorities.

  • Work actively to address issues and engage the workforce in achieving engine induction / teardown / inspection / delivery goals.

  • Effectively communicate cross functional requirements to ensure smooth process flow.

  • Hold employees accountable while maintaining a quality working relationship.

  • Ensure World Class safety culture is maintained and respond to all EH&S requirements promptly.

  • Ensure full involvement in CORE continuous improvement initiatives – utilize CORE tools to improve production, performance, and reduce overall operating cost.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree and 5+ years of experience in Manufacturing, Military, Logistics, Aerospace, or Aviation industry; OR Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of relevant experience;

  • 1+ years of personnel management experience

  • U.S. citizenship is required for this position; only U.S. citizens are authorized to access and handle sensitive data required to support our government and military programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in STEM field; Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering fields preferred.

  • Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) or Aviation Maintenance Technicians (AMT) preferred

  • Personnel management experience, particularly within a bargaining unit / union workforce environment.

  • Experience within Disassembly, Assembly and Test (DAT) or Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) environments supporting aircraft engines or related products.

  • Experience in / knowledge of gas turbine repair and FAR 145/Far 121/FAR 65 qualifications.

  • Working knowledge of continuous improvement principles, and/or LEAN, CORE, ACE, or Six-Sigma training.

  • Experience working with Solumina MES, Teamcenter, SAP ERP, and MS Office Suite.

  • Proven ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve business goals.

  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization including senior level management.
