Job Summary:
The Product Design and Packaging (PDP) Team at Raytheon is seeking an Intern to join our team as an Electrical Computer Aided Design Engineer (ECAD).

This position is an onsite role, located in Tucson, AZ. or Marlborough, MA. or Tewksbury, MA.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

• Responsible for Printed Circuit Board (PCB) designs from conception to manufacturing
• Creation of the PCB, Circuit Card Assembly (CCA), and Schematic drawings for suppliers
• Schematic Capture, Component Placement, Routing of Traces, Gerber/ODB++ file creation
• Software utilizing Siemens: Xpedition Enterprise and DownStream Technologies: BluePrint-PCB
• Design layouts include Rigid, Flex, and Rigid-Flex assemblies
• Working designs include full designs, re-spins, drawing updates, change notices, copper changes, and process improvement projects within and outside own discipline
• Daily interface with various engineering levels along with different engineering disciplines including, but not limited to Electrical, Mechanical, Components, Test, and Producibility Engineering disciplines to ensure that the overall design requirements are captured, keeping cost, cycle time, and producibility in mind

Basic Qualifications:

• Must be a Junior by the start of summer 2024 in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM), in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology is preferred
• Junior Technical Intern must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program.
• Senior Technical Intern must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program.
• Previous experience within in the below areas is a plus:
  • Circuit design, circuit layout, and circuit manufacturing
  • Basic component layout and routing and basic circuit checks
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

                                                                      

Preferred Qualifications:

• ABET accredited school is preferred, although not required accreditation standard
• 3.0 cumulative GPA desired
• Board layout experience of single and multi-lamination boards
• Experience in layout tools such as Siemens Xpedition Enterprise, Altium, EAGLE, or alike
• Familiarity with IPC 6012 & IPC 6013 is a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to effectively multi-task
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with coworkers from diverse communities and cultures
• Demonstrated ability to work with colleagues who represent a diversity of work and conflict resolution styles

Additional Information:

This is an Onsite role; employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite.  This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
