Role Overview:

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Production Controller for the Computers & HUMs business lines! This role controls the efficient flow of WIP throughout the build process, while ensuring that we execute in alignment with our build plan and customer requirements. This role will interface directly with Shop Floor Supervisors, Planners, and Value Stream Leaders.

Plans, designs, and executes production activities in support of the Master Production Schedule, forecast, customer commitments. Serves as the primary interface between the operations team and all supporting functions. Designated operations focal for all Value Stream and Program Managers to understand customer requirements, establish production commitments and communicate recovery plans to internal customers. Uses customer knowledge to work directly with planners, supervisors, and schedulers to establish the monthly and annual build plans for end items and made in-house sub-assemblies. Ensures build plan is in alignment with MPS, MRAP, and LE, and Forecasting tools.


The Production Controller will contribute to capacity planning and escalation of long-term capacity gaps. Will work with all supporting functions to mitigate risks to short term delivery plans, including but not limited to material shortages, planned and unplanned equipment maintenance, quality holds, and engineering changes.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Primary liaison to Customer facing teams for schedule and delivery requests
  • Coordinates with planners, buyers, schedulers, and supervisors to set and achieve day-to-day operational objectives
  • Tactical problems faced vary in difficulty, and may range in complexity
  • Ensures practices and procedures are communicated to supporting functions
  • Participates in establishing plans and maintaining data for purchased parts, subassemblies, end items and other parts as required
  • Supports customer inquiries via the programs and customer service teams. Will support in person customer meetings as required, and Participates in annual program management reviews
  • Continuous management of the master production schedule
  • Participates in developing plans to minimize risks for short-term shortages and ensures successful customer delivery

  • Experience working with ERP systems (e.g. SAP)
  • Proficient in MS Office skills
  • Experience working in a cross-functional team, such as including members from operations/production, technical/engineering groups, finance departments, etc
  • Detail oriented with ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to define problems, to collect data, to establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders at all levels of the organization
