This role is for an engineering student for the summer of 2024 interested in understanding the various aspects of manufacturing and industrial engineering. The specific opportunity will be working with the sensor systems group concerning pitot-static probes, air temperature probes and light mechanical assembly.  Typical summer internships at Collins aerospace include a combination of short-term daily tasks and summer length projects.  Interns across the plant and across disciplines have multiple opportunities to meet and discuss roles. This position is full-time, Monday-Friday, and will run May/June-August; it is only eligible for current students with a graduation date past August 2024.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design and release production tooling

• Work small research projects in coordination with a staff engineer

• Assist with the development of capital project scope, research and justification.

• Works with operations to improve existing manufacturing processes and work instruction.

• Troubleshoots and solves production process problems with root cause analysis.

• May make recommendations concerning acquisition and use of new technological equipment and materials.

Basic Qualifications:

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.

• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
