Job Summary:

The Quality and Process Engineering (Q&PE) organization is looking to add a Calibration Technician to our team. This position assures that all Measurement & Test Equipment (M&TE) equipment meet the requirements as specified in PWA-Material Control Lab manual and other Aerospace requirements. It will support Quality, Production, and Non-Production initiatives utilizing CORE tools. Duties include servicing & calibrating M&TE, Capability & Suitability testing of M&TE, non-conformance investigations. Work activity is 80% bench lab work and 20% desk work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The Quality and Process Engineering (Q&PE) calibration team is responsible for Measurement and Test Equipment (M&TE) calibration for Pratt & Whitney production gages.
  • Timely and accurate calibrations for Dimensional Discipline.
  • Perform task prioritizations.
  • Apply technical expertise in the evaluation, development, maintenance and use of products, devices, tests, or procedures under constantly changing conditions where some ingenuity and judgment are required.
  • Interacts with other functional groups (engineering, manufacturing, management) on routine tech.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Education/experience in mathematics/statistics is a plus. Knowledge of industry standards ISO17025.  
  • General Competence pertaining to Testing and Calibration Laboratories. ANSI Z540 Requirements for the Calibration of Measuring and Test Equipment.
  • Perform technical tasks based on written or verbal instructions. Plan and perform calibrations within the specified turn time.
  • Troubleshoot items not meeting requirements. Work within SAP to update information on M&TE. Implement and support CORE and the Raytheon CORE culture. Adhere to Environmental, Health, and Safety requirements and continuously strive to improve safety.
  • Continue expanding knowledge of Calibration. Knowledge of mechanical, physical, and electrical properties. Create standard work and operating procedures.
  • Lead process improvement for current procedures and processes.
