We are currently searching for a Systems Engineer to join our team in Sterling, VA. Employing some of the most talented dedicated people on the planet is not by chance. This systems engineering position is within the Simulation & Training Solutions (STS) business area. STS develops and builds simulators and training systems for both military and commercial customers. Devices range in complexity from desktop training all the way up to high fidelity weapon system and full-flight training systems including full visual motion and simulator interoperability. This is an onsite role, in Sterling, VA. Occasional travel may be required.

In this position, you will assist in the design, implementation, and testing of front-end and back-end software applications.  You will work in a fast-paced, modern agile development environment and collaborate closely with software, hardware, and test to build advanced, mission capabilities and features. Most aspects of the job are done in a classified lab environment and requires a daily onsite presence.

This position may be eligible for relocation. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Executes objectives for requirements management, coordination of different teams and other disciplines for large or complex projects.
  • Provides analysis for the decomposition of customer specifications and system-level requirements into sub-system and piece part requirements and develops verification criteria and plans for the requirements.
  • Performs system integration, verification, and validation for total systems.
  • Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions.
  • Decomposes customer specifications and system-level requirements into sub-system and piece part requirements and generates verification criteria and plans for the requirements.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the information under this program/contract.
  • Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.  Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using systems modeling tools and a requirement management tool.
  • Experience supporting testing activities during product development.
  • Experience participating in peer reviews of developed documents, system designs and test procedures for example.
  • Python Scripting and general understanding of software development process.
